What do Final Fantasy Fans think of an all encompassing Final Fantasy Game

What do Final Fantasy Fans think of an all encompassing Final Fantasy Game. I've been thinking about this for awhile; ultimately the game would be for nostalgic purposes only. You would be able to pick the characters from any of the Final Fantasy Games, mix and match them as you please (remember in Final Fantasy Tactics when you got Cloud Strife and it was absolutely AWESOME!!), then travel between the different worlds doing quests from each game. Defeat familiar bosses, collect the rare items, weapons, and armor from the different games. It would be a huge game, so it would have to be on the PS3 at this point, and I think the format would have to be set up similar to FF6 to be able to handle all of the different characters and locations. Anyway, just wanted to get some feedback and see if anyone else thinks something like this would be fun. Let me know what you think. (Not that this will ever happen, like a remake of Final Fantasy VII, but it's a nice thought anyway)
