I bought this movie last week while in a Target store. I've been wanting to see this movie for around five years now. I actually played the video game based on the movie back in 2005 which is how I got introduced to it. Unfortunately, it wasn't until recently that I was finally able to see it. As I thought, I enjoyed the movie. Has anyone here ever seen it? It came out back in 1979 and is about a gang named the Warriors. The movie was based on a novel from 1965 which in turn was inspired by an ancient Greek story about an army unit trapped behind enemy lines trying to make it home. In the movie, at the beginning New York City's (where the movie is set) largest gang known as the Gramercy Riffs, which is led by a man named Cyrus, have called many of the city's gangs together to send nine representatives to the Bronx. His goal is to unify every gang in the city and essentially take over the entire city and bring it under their control. Unfortunately, a gang kills Cyrus and then the killer blames it on the Warriors. For the rest of the movie, every gang in the city wants them as the Warriors try to make it back to Coney Island, which is their turf. Has anyone ever seen the movie? Did you enjoy it?

Warriors come out to play-aaay! It's classic. I didn't know they made a video game. I can't even imagine how would the gameplay look.

Like you I was introduced to this movie through gaming. I played the game and I liked it. A while ago while I was scanning my TV for a good show I happened to pass by a movie channel. I saw the character and it was familiar to me and that's the time I realized that it was Swan, the Warriors War Chief. So I decided to watch and finish that movie. Although I watched the movie starting at the middle part of it I still enjoyed it. The games and the movies is so much alike. The developer of the game seems so keen in following every details of the movie.
