what is seed and peer? why they uses in torrents?

i don't know more about seed and peer which is noted while at the time of torrent file downloading using utorrent. i think more seed and peer results fast downloading.

well its basically: seed = the one who has the file fully downloaded peer = the one that will download using the seeds this is basically it but it can be a lot complex. well if for example peer has some parts of the file that you need, then you will basically get those files from that peer and not the seed if there is no seeder available. well you really dont need know this one. But its basically the more seeders the faster your download.

And also, in case you are wondering, a leecher is practically a peer. Someone that is downloading rather than seeding. obviously the more leechers, the slower the download will be (:
