Is it me or has anyone else noticed the majority of topics that are started are not replied to by the one who started the discussion? Isn't that the point of this site...to discuss issues, feelings, and opinions? And what about those that respond with a "yes", "no", or "I don't know" when the topic clearly is started for a full fledged response? Just some thoughts.

Ya! I'm not one to really start a discussion because most of them are taken...LoL!! So even when I am just replying to one I try to go back in case there were other comments made cause I have seen other people, not just the one that started it, make a comment about what you have said. And even if it is just a thanks, I still try to respond the best that I can. Thanks for your response!!

well, after being a member for a month now, i really don't see the point of yes or no discussions or answers, i think it's rude(ish), after all if someone has spent some of their valuable life(and they will never get that time back) thinking of and asking a question, then the least you can do is answer it with a well presented, and honestly thought out answer. As for these questions that request a yes or no answer, thats not what this site is about (it's a site for discussions not just words) please have decency to explain your answer or, this will be a short lived site indeed.

I try to respond to everyone that has commented on or responded to any of my comments. It is hard to keep up with all of them though. I am like you, I do not like it when someone just puts a one or two word answer. To me it, it just shows they are after the money instead of a true discussion.

I am finding that there are a lot of people here that feel the same about the one worded answers. I also have seen the post by Mylot stating that now they are going to "reward" in a sense those of us that do post honestly and I hope that makes the others leave because they are not earning as much as before. That might sound mean, but I found that a lot of people feel that way. And I'm sorry, I may have a problem keeping up with all of the responses, but I am like you and try to respond to them all!! I can't stand going back to something that I posted and there is no response. Especially if I took a good long time thinking and writing my response.

another thing is i will reply and ask questions, but people never go back to that discussion that they don't answer, so it's never turns into a discussion!

I completely agree!! I don't know how some topics are not answered...I have seen a lot of awesome ones from a lot of the members here (including you), and there will be like one answer, or worse yet, no answer. I really don't understand that. The only thing that I can think of is that because so many are not only creating the discussions, but all of the ones that are responding to them are pushing certain topics to the back and no one can see them. And about the second part that you wrote, I agree with you there on that too. The only reason why I have so many numbers next to my name is because the majority of those is from responding to discussions, I only have a few started. And when I am done, I go back to read what the other person has put, OR to see if anyone else had made a comment under me, and then I try to make another comment which then turns into a what...a DISCUSSION!!! LMAO!! So I agree with you there too. You can't have a discussion if no one replies. If I wanted a one sided conversation I would talk to my 9 month old!!!

i don't know about other users if they check their discussion every time they log on. I just mind my own discussions and try hard to post a comment on every response that I get because it's for my own good too. But maybe I also post on those topics your saying but I just ignore it. Well it's their problem not mine

Some people try to open discussions with the thought they will attract many answers and earn money. This is not going to happen. In order to get more money is to get involved to other people's discussions, but appreciate at the same time to the others that have anwswered to your discussions, even by sending a simple "yes".

I thought the same thing, that they were only doing it to get the money without putting any TRUE effort into it...and that BITES!! And I agree, at least say SOMETHING to acknowledge whoever responded, let them know that you are there for other means and not just the friggin money!! Cause that is how it makes me feel when I don't even get a "thanks", that they just want the money!!

When I receive an email that someone respond to my discussions, I reply or try always to do replies to the responses that matters to the discussion. There are people in here who respond without any meaning to the discussion.

I do the same!! As soon as I get the email saying that I have had a response, I immediately go and see what was said. And about the ones that respond without having any meaning to the topic...I think that Mylot should have some sort of guideline or restriction as to what can be said so that there is no question about what is being asked of you to be a member of this site. It is so simple, stay on the dang subject, answer with more than one word or phrase (sometimes I can completely understand if you cannot help it)...and NO JIBBERISH!!!

The jibberish ones I agree need to be ignored!!! It may take me a few days (LoL), but I ALWAYS respond back to those that have taken the time to respond to my discussions.
21 Nov 06
I do try and reply to the replies, but some of them I can not add to, plus I don't have many people talking in threads.

Ya, I understand not being able to respond to a few of the comments, but primarily I am talking about those that start a discussion have more than 20 responses but have not responded to ANY of them. What is the point if you aren't gonna make a true effort at discussing it...ya know!!!??

I find this to be True with a lot of topics as well. I used to never personally respond back, but now I am always going in and responding to keep my discussions going. Just makes it interesting to see what others think on here about things.

I agree!! It is very interesting to see what other people think and how they view subjects. What is the point of having an opinion or views if you cannot express them!! And because I am a very talkative person, I love to respond back to what others have said.

When I joined myLot on October 13, I made a point of always making a comment to each posting on my discussions. Lately though I've encountered a problem when I try to comment. Either I just get a blank white page and my comment doesn't go through, or it will post my comment at least twice. After a few attempts at posting a comment, I've given up...at least until myLot gets the feature fixed. It's quite aggravating to try and comment and no comment appears. I hate the "yes", "no" or "I don't know" posts and sometimes feel it's a waste of my time to even comment. I love a good discussion, too.

I've noticed that when that happens, the blank white page, I just hit the back button and my response is right there, and if it isn't then I do it again...but most the time it is there. And I agree with you on the "single comments". It was my impression when I first started doing this that you needed to be "as descriptive as possible", why, because that it was it says when you go to make a comment. So if you are going to say yes, at least say WHY you are saying yes, ya know!!! And it is a complete waste of time...not only the one making the comment, but also the one who made the discussion because they are the ones that have to scroll all the way down hoping to see a good comment, but instead they see that!!!!

I dont see anything wrong with the person who started the discussion to add comments after someone has replied, it isnt stopping others from replying! BUT i do hate to see those yes, no, i dont know, maybe and all those types of answers i seriously dont see the point if you cant participate in a discussion then why bother replying at all! I feel that most people who do that believe that mylot pays per post but i do believe pay for quality!

LoL!! I have seen some discussions with 80 or more responses:o, so I definitely see your point on the not stopping!! And I do agree, I think that Mylot does have standards as far as quality in a response...well at least they should!! Too bad those that don't really contribute don't see it that way. Thanks for sharing!!
