I'm a big movie lover and dvd collector and appreciate things like DVD cover art, picture quality and sound I even enjoy listening to audio comentery. Any way when you buy DVD films or TV shows do you pay attention to detail? and do you care weather or not the DVD has original case, and art good picture quality and sound? the reason I ask is because more and more people are buying poor reproduction's that have bad picture no cover art, it got me wondering, I guess some people dont mind paying for crap just to see the film, but I prefer to get my moneys worth, and have all the features that you cant get with a reproduction. For example a lot of reproductions have no case or they may have some cheap blurry art work on the disk also a lot of them have bad picture quality with no scene selection or interactive menus. but a quality DVD you find in the store or reputable dvd site has all the bells and whistles, cover art, scene selection. I'm a stickler for details and prefer the real thing case also good cover art and all. So tell me do you care about details when buying dvds or do you just want to watch the film no matter what kind of shape the film, and disk are in? be honest thanks.

Yes !! Iam also a movie-buff and have many collections . whenever I buy a DVD , i check fo rthe quality of the disc. I ask the shopkeeper to play it for me and check everything . Only when i'm satisfied , i buy . It makes your mood go off when u get a scratchy disc , without good sound and video . Sometimes they also carry a non-sync video and bad quality and also no subs. I've been in this situations quite a lot and i take care when buying dvd;s . I want my collections to be good and give me a experience whenever i watch them.

Oh sounds like you have quite a collection. I have over 45 DVDs and counting, I also have 75 to 85 VHS tapes, and all DVD and VHS have original art work and case completely pristine no scratches at all in fact the disk are so shiny you'ed think there were newly purchased haha sci-fi horror Disney animated films even dramas, and thrillers even action no reproductions all the cases look like they've just been purchased but I've had some for years. All DVDs are stacked perfectly in my entertainment center I keep them dusted off and I also make it a point not to get stains on them or scratch them, and when I buy a new DVD I want it to look and match the condition of my collection at home, I want to and be able to enjoy the extra features because most of my dvds are special editions. as you can probably tell by my post I'm very proud of my DVD collection some were gifts and some I purchased lol. I wish could see your dvd collection, and you could see mine that would be sort of fun thanks for stopping in.

If it's a film I really like I do like to have the official copy, the cover art doesn't bother me so much, I'm more interested in the special features. I like commentary's and documentaries about how they made the film and other things like that. On the anniversary of a film being made they often re-release it with special features i like those kinds of disks.

DVD case. - Blank DVD case ready for a cover to be placed in the sleeve. Used to keep DVD's and CD's free from scratches and dust marks. Cheap to buy.
Well, for me I just care whether the actual DVD plays properly with no jumps or jitters, and the sound quality is tops. Whether the cover is all that good or not does not really matter unless I am paying a premium price, then I expect everything to be spot on. If I buy a cheap DVD from the bargain bucket and dont like the cover then I go to http://www.cdcovers.cc/ and find a cover I like download it and print it off, it's free. Have a cool day.
