Problem after crying

I'm a person who easily gets hurt and happy to cry when I'm sad. Whenever I'm crying, I will cry as much as possible and won't stop until I was running out of tears (even though my heart already feel at ease). But after crying, I will start sneezing, and my nose blocked...and I feel really trouble again! I always have to work on my nose for another 2 to 3 hours..:( Does anybody else having the same problem? And I really don't think quitting to cry forever is the best solution...Any idea?

hmm..maybe if you can find a way to make yourself think happy thoughts, then maybe you won't be crying for too long/ then your nose will be ok much more sooner if i were in front of you when you cry, maybe i'd try and make you laugh

and if you don't cry too often, your nose won't disturb you too often too

i'm a crybaby too but most of the time i'm not showing my tears to my family and friends..i don't want them to worry over me..so i usually cries alone..and the best way to know whether i cried the other night or no is when i'm having clogged nose in the morning..you are even lucky that you have to deal with it for only 2-3 hours..but me i usually deal with it for days..i guess we can't do anything about it..or maybe more intake of Vitamin C can help us..

Oh poor you :( Sorry to hear that. I'm actually taking a lot of fruit and food that contain vitamin C everyday, but it doesn't seem to help me. I'm a super strong girl when I'm in front of my family especially my mum. Though when my heart feels really hurt. but I'm just naturally not able to cry in front of them, I dunno why. I wasn't even trying not to. Sometimes, I wish I could. I thought my problem (clogged nose) is worse enough, but now compare to yours, it must be harder for you :(

I cry sometimes as well, but luckily when I do I don't get attacked by any sinus problems or any longterm effects. The worst that happens to me is the very obvious red eyes that occur, and the headache as well. I can't imagine what would happen if I started sneezing and not being able to use my nose for two to three hours at all. I don't know how to help you, sadly.

Well, different people have different ways to cope with problems. We also have different ways to react when we get hurt but it only means one thing and that is, we got hurt. In your case, maybe you don't wanna quit crying cuz crying is an emotional expression that you're in pain. They say it feels a lot better to cry it out than to hold it in. For me, I can't cry most of the time. What I do is hurt that person who hurt me, which is quite the opposite of what your reaction is, obviously, and I don't like it. That's the way I am and I can't change it. I've tried but I figured, it's me. So I think your reaction to pain is much better than mine.

Thanks :) I do like the way you said that you would hurt the person who hurt you back. I sometimes think of doing the same thing too, but then I won't do it in the end. But usually when the person who hurt me get sad seeing me crying, then I will actually think like this; "Haha! I got you! Now your turn" But damn! The nose...it's bothering me...:(

I usually just sneeze and then blow it out. I think it is caused by the mucus that is formed because of your non-stop crying. You really should not be worried about it. Everyone is experiencing that after a good cry.

Yeah! "A good cry"...that's how I usually like to call it. Well, if crying is normal then having that problem after crying must be normal too. Otherwise, if it's a bad problem then seems like crying will be banned forever haha! joking, mate. Happy mylotting..

wow that kind of crying will hurt your eyes?Maybe while crying the constant wiping cause infection to your sinuess and nose which cause sneezing? Or while crying for too long cause your to get a cold because the nose unable to maintain the temperature hence get flu. When crying , try not use hand to wipe, maybe use a clean hankerchief or tissue.

I often use hand to wipe tears so I think you must be right about the infection too.

Yep, that's one of the things I don't like about crying. I hate that stopped up the sinuses feeling afterwards. No problem though because I don't cry very often. I don't get the point really. You can cry all the tears you want but the reason that made you cry didn't change so what's the point? I do cry sometimes.. I am somewhat normal..but I don't cry very much or very often!

A lot of my friends say the same thing too. They said it's no use to cry over thing. And they said I'm a very expressive person myself. I believe I am, and there are lots of things that can make me cry even a happy one. I used to just fight over thing I disagree or whatever hurt me, I still do until now...but sometimes, when I lost the fight, I see no point anymore to keep fighting, so I will just decide to say no more and just cry. I happened to argue with one of my best friend long time ago and I finally beat her half an hour later and she cried. She was very sad because I said hurtful words to her. When I saw her crying and being very sad, I thought to myself, "Oh, now there's nothing I can be proud of winning the argument" :) Haha!

You know I once have the same problem. Every time after I cried, I will not only have to deal with the blocked nose, but also have to deal with my swelled eyes. My nose used to take two or three hours to recover while my eyes used to take one or two days to recover. But I always believed crying can help me to abreact my negative emotions, like you, I just did not want to forbid myself crying. So I went to a psychologist counselor and she said my way of crying is wrong. You must be interested in what is the right way of crying my counselor told me. But since it needs a whole article to explain that, I will not do that here. But I am going to write a blog on this.Maybe you can visit my blog sometime later, but not recently for I haven't written anything in my blog yet. I have just started yesterday. And I want to give you two little tips:1.Be aware of your emotions when you are crying, when you are crying please get yourselves in touch with your emotions. Don't cry just for cry's sake.2.Remind yourselves of taking deep breaths and this helps to avoid a blocked nose. And I have started a discussion on the right way of crying. Maybe you will be interested to visit there. Best wish!

Thanks a lot. I must admit to you that I never took a warm shower after crying, honestly :) Because also sometimes, when I cry I wasn't at home. I do wash my face but just with a cold water and it's really not helping. I will be blowing my nose even more. I hope this one will helps me. Thanks again

Maybe you're allergic to crying? I've never sneezed because of my nose being stuffed from crying but it's never stayed stuffed that long, either. You might want to try using an OTC allergy pill when you reach that point. They are basically anti-congestants and should clear up that nose for you. I hope this helps.

Thank you Alaskanray! Maybe I will try. So when I get it, I will hold it until I finish crying :)) (joking....but I mean it) I will definitely try and get one from pharmacy. I'm really allergic to few things.
