What makes you fan a facebook page?

Ive been curious about this lately, partly because i have an fb page. Anyways what makes you fan a page? And what makes you comment on their posts?Ive seen alot of pages that have fans in the 100s and seem to be high schoolish! It bothers me a little here are people trying to promote projects, blogs, sites, etc. They are pages that have genuine content and are thankful to those who fan them. Yet they are neglected by their fans and or potential fans. Whats ur opinion?

I am not really a fan of many pages, but the only way I become a fan of anything is usually if I get an invite or suggestion from one of my friends. I do not actively look for stuff to become a fan of or anything, but I might join if a friend sends me an invitation with a good reason or to something I like anyway!

I don't participate in any "fan" groups or other communities on Facebook. If I let it, facebook can completely dominate my life and then what would I ever get done? I limit my involvement on Facebook to just reading and posting to my friends, keeping in touch with family and friends is all I want to do on that site. I'm not really a fan of anyone...or anything.
