hi kojimal honestly, i don't think it's a case for everybody. but in my case, i came from family that was quite poor, and we live in a village that was far far away from the city. i had no computer knowledge nor can i speak english even after i graduated high school. not to mention, i also have 4 brothers and 2 sisters. my elder sister happily quit school at 15 to work so she could get us a higher education, and i'm not saying here if my parents weren't doing their duty. man, everybody was struggling! so after graduating high school, i moved to the city to work. there, i enjoyed the new culture, new scenery, and it's even inspired me to learn a lot more of other things though i couldn't afford yet. when i got job that wasn't actually paying me that much, i started going to cyber cafe and paid the service at $3 rate per hour. my purpose was to learn computer, which is i did after a few months. then after that i decided to learn english, huh, another hard work. but this one required me to travel a bit. so after working for 2 years, i quit the job and i started travelling. i felt more confident and independent then those days. i was also already using computer a lot, very active communicating with new friends through email. btw, back to the travelling. i travelled as a backpacker, i used my saving for it instead of applying college. from the first day i travelled, i didn't speak any other languages than english. people helped on the way, they saw me carrying my little old dictionary around, and the other travellers were so happy and keen to teach me more, especially canadian, australian, british, and more... ok that was 4 months of travelling, and with non-stop effort, i managed to master the basic of english....yeah just the basic, writing, reading and all, but i was satisfied. i stopped travelling, and i started applying for hotels job. i have to say that they were impressed with my english very much. every interview i went to, i usually have to say, i've only finished high school so i have no proper certificate, but they can ask me to speak english haha...i was pretty silly that time, but it worked. working in a hotel was my dream job. so nowadays, i had been working in hotel industry for 7 years, and every people i met think that i have a degree in hospitality, which is i don't. but i also don't tell them whether yes or not, i just smiled. so to me, though i couldn't afford a higher education, and i made it worst by not choosing to to college ever again then until today (well maybe someday...when i'm tired of working)..but experience and a lot more education that sometimes you can't get from college are actually everywhere. it is just all depends on how fast you grab it then how well you use it in your everyday's life. cheers, i hope you enjoyed my share :-)

koji, ignorance is costly. It might mean one's life. Expensive education need not be a case. There are scholarships.

I know that many fields of education need a lot of money and many people do not pursue higher education because they do not have much money to do so, I think there should be education or even higher education which can be accessible to many people too.

Unfortunately education is expensive though it is also very important. I dont know about other countries though here education is free until the age of 18. Afterwards university is a great option though also very expensive. There are loans and grants avaliable to those who come from poorer backgrounds and is certainly worth looking into and applying for these grants instead of just looking at the costs and saying there is no way to afford it and so giving up and missing out. Of course, education is not the only thing in life. I have a degree and other qualifications though even with those qualifications it is still difficult to find work at times. At the moment I am a stay at home mum through choice and hope that my qualifications will help with a better job when the time comes though I even know people with qualifications all over the place and they are working a minimal pay job. It is also though something in which makes me feel better about myself - knowing what I achieved though it does get me down when these achievements do not help with money. What I am trying to say is that yes education is very improtants though yes it is also very expensive and some people are not poor enough for grants though only just higher than the line and so still can not afford the high fees. It is not fair to say that these people are ignorant or anything else because they simply can not afford education as many would love to further their learning. Instead we should perhaps turn to the goverments and look at why they dont offer more help or lower the costs considerably.

Hi, A person always see things in his own perspective. The environment that you are in, may not prove ambient for others. Each one of us see half of the picture at a time and we are satisfied with it. Then we start drawing conclusions which is also partial and flawed like the image we've seen. So we shouldn't null and void the possibility. There are many places under the sun, where students fail to get expensive education. Even if there are scholarship, that facility is limited to only a few. What about the rest? Don't they deserve to be educated? We always say, "there is always a way", but we mention a concrete way out. Even in the US many people can't continue their study because of the cost of education. This is quite common after a certain stage of higher education. None will possibly deny that people don't get enough money from scholarships and other such provisions. This, of course, varies from country to country, system to system. We shouldn't make any sweeping generalization here. Thanks God bless you

That's true! There are lots of unfortunate people here in our country who dont go to school because they think its expensive. In my family, there's one individualy who stays with us. She is not a relative or something but she has been staying with us for 2 years now. She wanted to go to college but her family cant afford to send her to school. My family pledged to send her to school in return she is going to help us with the housework. She doesnt have to pay for board and lodging and she is also given a certain amount of salary. I think some people make it as a justification when they say they dont want to go to college because its expensive. Other people do something about that kind of situation so I believe others can also do it.

Nothing is as big as education. If a person has a capability of learning then I think money can never be an issue. With so many banks giving education loan, expense for the education is within everybody reach nowadays. So if person thinks that he can do a particular course and have the particulars required that like grades, then I think he/she should go for taking the educational loan.
