any suggestions for a healthy snack?

I usually get hungry around 11am and I have a store of biscuits and chocolates here in my office, but recently I think these are not too healthy. So what would be a healthy snack? What do you like to eat as a snack?

Healthy snacks that I eat are usually chips and salsa which is better then popcorn, Doctor OZ stated this on his show last week. I love to have a bowl of dried fruits such as cranberries, prumes and apricots. I also will have a piece of dark Chocolate that has alot of antioxidants in them. The other snacks I like are just a bowls of different veggies like celery, carrots, cucumbers, and tomatoes. I try to eat at least 3 veggies and 3 fruits each day for better health.

Oh that is not good at all for your intestines or your colon. I would try to have at least one of each to begin with if I were you. They are so yummy and good for you.

I don't really mind that but I try to switch around sometimes, or having it with different foods like once with bread and another time with fruits :D

I usually have that as breakfast but that's a good suggestion too. Sometimes I even have a oatmeal drink for dinner, that makes it 2 meals a day already.

I eat fruit, because some fruits (such as apples or bananas) really fill you up, but they are healthy too! So I would suggest your favorite fruit, whatever that might be. Carrots are pretty yummy and filling too, but I know that not everyone likes carrots, so it depends on how you feel about them I guess...

Bananas would work for me. I like carrots too but it'll feel weird crunching that in the office. Thanks puccagirl :)

I love apples and bananas for snack too, easy to eat, besides it does add to weight but will give you more nutrients and cheaper too. both are good source of fiber apple with skin preferably.

Fruits are generally a healthy replacement for snacks as opposed to chips or even biscuits. I do take apples with skin as it contains more vitamins.

Great suggestions, there are lots of favourites here. Some could be difficult to eat in the office unless I put them in sandwiches, thanks!

Try popcorn because according to a study made by some researcher, beside being low in calorie alternative to chips and chocolate, popcorn fights cancer.

Actually I always thought of popcorn as unhealthy food because it is prepared under very high temperatures and some are burnt. I only eat it sparingly when there is an food urge. I didn't know about it being low calorie and its anti-cancer properties, maybe I should research more about it, thanks!

Here in the Philippines, we have a healthy store positioned in SM Malls called "Healthy Options". There you can buy snack foods that are very healthy. They are the healthy alternatives. If you crave on Potato Chips snacks, then there you can find healthy equivalent to commercial potato chips. Then if you are looking for cookies, you can also find "healthy cookies" there!

That is so wonderful, I hope the store has good business so people can continue to enjoy good healthy snacks. The owners are pretty clever.

Biscuits and chocolates are harmful to health indeed. If you eat too many as snack, you will become illness.I suggest that you can eat some fruit as your snack every day.The fruit is full of vitamin. You can enough your body's vitamin by eating many fruit. This is my advice.

Thanks, I will try to eat more fruits from now on, at least once a day anyway. Taking vitamins reduce our chance of getting flu.

In my opinion, there aren't absolutely healthy food or absolutely unhealthy food at all. No matter what food, if you eat too many, it can be poisonous, if you eat moderately, it can be beneficial to your health. So my advice is you should change the kind of your snack, for instance, one week biscuits and chocolates, one week fruit, one week cakes... anyway, avoid eat one kind for too long. Be healthy and Happy Lotting!
