I have no idea if they still do, but, of course it's always possible. There were some problems with earthquakes there and something happened to the structure of the school so that it had to be torn down. They tried to bus the kids to another school, but the students didn't take to it and just quit going to school whatsoever, so the school came up with a different alternative. Start the day earlier (the one pain in the butt) and break up the classes. Our school day started at 6:45!! But we were let out at 12:45, and our 8 class day was divided into 2 days, classes 1,3,5 and 7 were held one day, the following day 2,4,6 and 8 were held, they were also almost 2 hours long, to deal with the missing of a day I suppose. It's funny thinking of all the boys and girls getting off the school bus, mostly dressed in their jammies, they actually allowed jammies since our classes started so early, the girls with hot rollers still in their hair and the boys still unshaven. A lot of us brought our backpacks stuffed with our clothes and would shower at the gym once we had got our breakfast. And the only problem I ever seen with this schedule was on monday morning because it seemed noone could remember what the last friday was, did we have even or odd days on friday? I can remember many mornings going to the wrong class and have to hike back to the other side of the school campus because my memory hadn't served me right.
