The best distro

I am a dedicated distro hopper. I'm trying to find a new distro to play around with, but can't figure out what one I want to try. Right now I'm using CrunchBang. I've found it to be a very good distro, but I want to hop again. So, what's your favorite distro? Tell me why I should be using your preferred distro instead of CrunchBang (or why I should stay on CrunchBang)

There's no way to answer to your question. Most distros are quite similar on many things and it's actually a question of personal preference. Moreover, using a popular desktop manager, like Gnome or KDE, can make most distros even look the same - you will mostly notice differences on the package management system and the command line. I personally am a fan of Debian and Sidux, because I like the way apt-get resolves dependencies and manages packages and because of the great control they give you on the system - your distro is not getting on your way when using the computer, like Windows or even Ubuntu and RedHat do.

But I just wanna find a new distro to play around with! I realize it's all personal opinion, but that's what I wanted, a distro someone else thought was good that I could play in.

Maybe you'll appreciate Sidux, if you haven't already tried it. It's all the newest, sometimes still buggy stuff of Debian's Unstable branch. It's good to play around, though it can give you a hard time if something goes wrong.

My favorite linux distro is the one your avatar suggests. I have stuck to Debian for nearly 5 years.
