Some people get less salary because they didn't receive a diploma of university, no matter how much professional experiences they get. Do you think it's fair ?

The diploma is really important as in it will get you noticed by people. However, what happens next, will depend on real life experience. Still, many people when they look for someone, a diploma is something that catches their eyes. It is a symbol that the person is in something for the long haul. However, real life experience is really something that helps something. Basically, when it all breaks down, the diploma is something that will get a person's foot in the door. The experience that you have will allow you to utilize the abilities that will keep you there. It is just really that simple. Both have their uses and someone who has both, instead of one or the other will be in really good shape and will have many options.

Both are important because in life you need real experiences and also you need a university diploma in order for you to find a good work. Most of the jobs requires higher level of knowledge. They look for the diploma, because it is an evidence that you surpass a higher level of education.

Well, I understand why with SOME careers you have to go to school for them (like doctor)...but in some cases I think real world experience is really important. I think if someone without a diploma can do a job as well or better than someone with a diploma, they should get the same salary.

it is not the question of a degree or a diploma .. which is useful for you to be a real human in life. It is just the KNOWLEDGE and your experience, which converts the knowledge into WISDOM... that helps you. this is my opinion. but, as you rightly said, .. only such CERTIFICATES are helping the modern world to make money, or get a job. However, if you compare.. it is mere paper-leaves that we are considering to be MONEY.. and dying for that. We no longer value the most important virtues of life! .. alas! it is a different world .

both are important at its place ..college diploma is widely accepted and even a prime requirement in getting job\work for experience..no firm or institution wants to have risk to appoint a non degree holder ...amy be he is lying,,,may be he have experience in particular work etc..there days many a institution dont believe the college diploma also , they rely n there own exm ..many a times it is too choose the but here also they the college degree for they dont to waste there expenditure on those who have no proof of there knowlege...moreover with so many of there sourse available , it is considered that the one with knowledge will get the degree too

i think we need to have both.. lacking either one we will not be able to go very far. i know it isn't fair but this is how the our world works. besides, getting a diploma or higher from any university will mean that you are able to work, think and solve problems at a higher level and thinking as well as to manage multiple and heavy tasks given to you.. these characteristics and thoughts are usually required of those who are at a higher level of a company.. just as those working in the inner circles of the office, performing crucial tasks are usually those who are well educated and are qualified.. those who aren't and are working on the outside will just have to learn to handle the job better by learning from those who supervise and manage them.. since there are the one actually handling the job first hand, no doubt there will be able to perform it better than those who are just managing and directing them.. but to be able to see a bigger picture, i still think it is those who have been through a higher level of education.. hence are able to solve and understand a problem better provided they really put in all the effort and their knowledge to resolve things.. in my opinion, it is the capability of our thinking skills that we are being paid for

I think you need to have both. getting a degree gives you sufficient knowledge and skills to do tasks better. And, you can be globally competitive if you have a college diploma. Of course experience is also very important so that we can apply those knowledge that has been learned in the school to real life situations.
