Have you ever caleld in Sick to Work, but werent actually sick? I have not done this because my work does not offer paid sick days so when i dont go in i don't get paid. I need the money as much as possible, I don't make enough to pay for all my bills and it is very hard to manage and do everything i do. Calling in sick means missing a day of pay.

I have never called out of work sick. I would rather get sent home for being sick so at least they know I am not lying. I always had a strong work ethic and like you were saying if I do miss a day at certain jobs I would not have gotten paid for it. The job I have been at for the last five years I rarely get sick. But if I do get sick I will go to work so that he can see and then normally he will send me home and I still get paid.

Sick Leave - I called in sick but that's just a lie!
Hello. Ooops, I'm guilty of this. I called in sick once in my previous job because I need to be fresh and focused for my interview with another job opening that day. LOL. Now I have my job and looking back on what I did, I didn't regret it. Sometimes you need to sacrifice something to get the bigger things you want.

In my case, since I have paid sick leaves, I always called the office and inform them than I'm sick. But I do that to be able to attend to other important things like attending to my baby's needs, going to family affairs. Since I consumed firt my vacation leaves, that's why I have to lie and use my sick leave..It's not because I am just lazy going to work. There's always a valid reason for using my sick leave rather than being absent.

I think that it's no good to lie, because when You lie several times it become a true.By me it's not the best way to be successful person , and principally what you do you do for you.Money are not the most important in the world- I am from very poor country-Bulgaria and also need to work hardly , but never lie.You have to brave to say the true- the real reason you are not able go to work, by me it's better.

Life sure is tough. I also try to avoid calling in sick just for the sake of getting my pay (we all need money :(. Lieing in bed sick isn't gonna get us anywhere). There was this one time when I decided to go to a party and decided to call in sick. Missed a day of pay but had tons of fun :P.

hi there. yes i did this several times. or shall i say a lot of times.. i guess being lazy going to work should be legalized under the category of Sick Leave. you get a day from work and you get paid. now, ain't that relief enough? when i was first starting work, i would be so guilty for not attending work because am just lazy. and then my co-worker told me why should i be. we were given 12 sick leaves. whether am real sick or not, that is my privilege. in your case, i really am sorry that you don't get paid for a day from work. if you are really sick, don't force yourself to go to work. yes, we all need money, but have to take care of yourself. it is more expensive if you get sicker.

In the past when i was working there were a few times that i had to tell a white lie.I used to work for three different companies, so i was working at times a full 24 hours on aswell as then having six hours off to do yet another 24 hours on again.I told them that i had a bug,but really i was really tired aswell as feeling very ill.I missed the pay from not going to work aswell.

I haven't done that. We have paid vacation leaves and sick leaves. So I'm really sick if I told my manager that I am sick. I don't want to lie about my health. My boss is open about what we feels about coming to work. If we don't want to go to work then we'll just file a vacation leave. Reasons really doesn't matter as long as we still go and do our work.

yup.. ive done it a couple of times.. in my previous company i called in telling them im sick, but i actually just had hang over and cant go to work.. the next day, things are fine.. the day after next, i got a flu, i told my bf to inform my supervisor, since we have the same supervisor... when i came back to work, i signed a termination paper.. hahaha.. i got terminated.. i was shocked and sad.. later did i found out that my ex bf got the wrong number.. and that was the reason why my supervisor didnt know.. well, i have learned in this other company i have worked, i called in sick and i would go to the doctor for a check up with my fake illness... so i can ask for a medical certificate.. and so i can apply for sick leave.. hahaha

I'm still a student now. So I have no work. But when I was a pupil, I used sickness as an excuse to escape from basketball-exercises. My primary school took basketball as a characteristic and forced us to practise it no matter we liked or not.
