Do you belive animals commit Suicide?

my mom had a dog when i was a kid that loitered on the streets outside the house as if begging people to kill him. i only heard they slaughtered him. the people probably thought he had rabies. the dog was among the first that i've known in my life. the succeeding dogs we have are all slaughtered too the most recent a native dog.
