A ex soldier, a one legged woman, a stroke and a felony.

I was astonished at the news this morning. In Chattanooga, I believe a man was arrested and charged with seven crimes including a felony. Thing is, he wasn't in the wrong in my opinion. One our vets was rushing his wife to the hospital after she suffered a stroke at home. As you know, the sooner treatment is administered following a stroke the better. Well, I guess the guy ran a few red lights or what not and was quickly spotted by a cop. As opposed to stopping the man continued on to the hospital, with cop following. Once he arrived at the hospital, he got out, and proceeded to pick up his wife, whom has only one leg, and take her in to see the doc. This cop decides he is going to block the entrance. Are you kidding me?? After a few words were exchanged the man was able to take his wife inside. As she was being treated, the police attempted to arrest the man. The doctors and nurses however, talked the police out of it citing they needed the man for medical information. The next morning, these idiot police came back and drug the man off to jail. What is the deal with that?? What is this country coming to? The police anymore seem to do just anything they want to. This is ridiculous. That cop should be fired. The whole department should be looked into. They say he followed protocol. Maybe that protocol should be examined. These cops need to be held accountable. Is there not a moral judgement section on the exam? What do you think about this injustice? The husband wasn't out on a crack binge. He was saving a life for petes sake. Are cops in this country going too far? Are they becoming overbearing? What do you think?

Law and justice both are blind. It things with the head and not with heart. There is no place for emotions. Man had broken the law by running through red lights. In doing so, he had endangered so many other lives in trying to save life of one person that is his wife. That is the reason they have arrested him. During the trial, they might also take into consideration the extenuating circumstances that made him commit the crime. The reason for which he commits the crime might mitigate his punishment to some extent.

Allow me to elaborate. He did not wrecklessly fly through the red lights. He made sure it was clear before proceeding through the red lights.

i agree with u. this is pathetic. lst of all people need to know in case of a medical emergency, call an ambulance. that is ur best option, but we don't always think straight like the time i thought my husband was having a heart attach & i drove him to the hospital. did i ever get a talking to from the nurses. u never do that, u call an ambulance. thank God it wasn't a heart attack. the police should give this family a break!!!!!!
