Two thumbs up

This film was never the popular hit I expected it to be. I never even heard of it until I was browsing the video store for a movie to rent. I liked the cast...Mark Ruffalo had just struck a home run in 13 Going On 30 with Jennifer Garner and here he is with Reese Witherspoon, another excellent pairing. This movie doesn't take itself too seriously and is so full of familiar faces, you just feel like you're at home. The comedy is great and the nuances are there to be enjoyed time after time. I actually had bought the movie on DVD at one point but found it necessary to part with it later. It is a PG-13 but the obligatory "F" word that got it that rating is not actually spoken in this one, it's in the form of a hand signal and it plays into the plot so perfectly that it's hard to be offended by it. My daughter and I both enjoyed this fun romp into the unconscious mind and the astral plain and got such a kick out of the peripheral characters, they almost outshone the stars...almost...."Righteous!" If you haven't seen this film, I highly recommend it. If you have, let me know what your favorite part was. By the way...do YOU know what a coaster is?
