How do you define Border Security?

We all keep screeching "secure our borders". The majority of us want our border secure. The crime and violence happening at our border, the cost of illegal immigrants crossing is debilitating. So my question to you is how would you secure the border? Would it be a fence? a wall? tighter laws? What are your suggestions for a solution? What would you like to see our Federal Government do to combat this eviscerating situation?

Anyone or business hiring illegals will be jailed and fined based on what illegals have cost taxpayers. Anyone renting living space to illegals will be jailed and fined based on what illegals have cost taxpayers. No social services will be given to illegals. No free education. No more free medical service. They will have to pay as they are able. No child born in the US to illegals will be an American citizen. They will not be allowed to wire money back to their family in their native land. No more printing anything in any language but English. Profiling will be allowed. Anyone illegally crossing the border caring a weapon can be shot on sight. No illegals who have received amnesty will be allowed to vote in any election. As long as there's an incentive to come, they will come. We must make coming illegally to the US as unattractive as we possibility can for the illegals, for those who would hire them, and for the politicians who want them here to get their votes.

bestboy, I think those are great ideas but I dont see them getting passed. But you are right, as long as it is attractive and worth the trouble, they will come.

Not easy to try and wear governments shoes. So Im thinking, lets bring it home. Ok how would I secure my property if I had as much money as governments has. Id build a huge wall, probably like the one in China. But then I think I might need someone to make sure nobody climbs the wall, so Id need guards at every 20 feet or so. Then Id need to make sure someone can replace them if they need to go to the bathroom or eat. So spare guards are needed with a car to drive around and pick them up and leave someone else there to guard the wall. I wouldnt want dogs as they mess up the lawn, they bark at all hours of the night and day. Not a good idea. I could also electrify the wall but it wouldnt be practical. Or I could dig a ditch around my property and fill it with something repulsive that nobody would want to swim in. But that might be a problem, Id have to smell it also. It reminds me of the old days when they had to protect their lands and their castles. They had ditches around the cities and huge walls. It seemed to work back then, .....but then again, they didnt have planes!! Nah, best idea is to have robots, armed robots and you have a wall of them robots guarding the border. They are programmed to shoot if anything moves. Problem solved!!

ok, when we get a real government willing to make positive changes, I will share. I hope we DONT put up a wall on the Northern side. While there are still bad guys coming through, it is nothing even CLOSE to the southern border.

I just knew you'd like my ideas. Now its your job to share them with your government. I have a feeling that very soon, there will be some kind of fence between your country and mine. I can nearly smell it now.

While building a wall is a start, illegals will find a way around it.We need to start enforcing our laws and making them stronger. The anchor baby garbage should be gone.Anyone caught hiring illegals goes to jail.Period! If you can't speak English, you can't become a citizen. In fact,English should be made our national language. What you speak in your own home is your business. In public, you must speak English or face a fine.No company will print labels for their products in any language but English. This will save companies millions and lower the prices of products.Nothing to do with the United States government will be in any language but English. This will save millions in tax dollars.Lastly,we take control of a third world country and make it our own.Any illegal that is caught will be sent there and not imprisoned by us.This costs us billions of dollars to incarcerate these law breakers. When they complain hat they aren't from that country,we tell them they aren't from the U.S.either.They can still be illegals,it will just be a lot longer swim.

I'm not sure that the borders can be secured. Therefore, it is my opinion that the United States must make it unattractive for illegals to come here. Don't allow anyone who cannot show that they are a citizenship or have a green card or work permit access to any of the social services. Level hefty fines and jail time on any company or individual that is found hiring illegals. Don't allow illegals to have their babies here. If they're given amnesty, let it be only for the purpose of working, but not for the privilege of voting in any of our elections. If they want to vote, make it mandatory that they go through the emigration steps toward citizenship.

wow that sounds just like what Arizona is doing and doing well. AND that even the FEDERAL Government is opposing. But I agree with you. a wall can be climbed and if we erect something people can not get through, whats to say we can ever get out?

Securing the border is almost impossible to do. No matter how tall the fence/wall or whatever else you could build people wanting to get in will. There will always be means by which people will use to get around these barriers. The fact of the matter is that we need to enforce the laws that are on the books and stop turning our back on them. We allow illegals to come with thier children and then are obligated to educate these children without ever knowing the status of the parents. And yes, I do believe that every child is entitled to a free and public education but maybe there needs to be some work done to get the parents the necessary paperwork completed to allow them to be here legally also. There needs to be a combined effort to make sure we know who is in the country and they need to know thier responsibilties for being allowed to be here.

Thank you for responding, I agree we should start with the laws currently on the books.
