Anyone in South Africa right now watching the World Cup matches?

I haven't really the priviledge to be out there, but it must be really exciting with all that heightened atmosphere. Is it really worth spending all that money to be out there watching the matches? Does it compare with all the hype? Please share your experiences? Has anyone just come back? Or even if you're still out there? Please let us know! One thing I really want to know is, can you really see properly sitting in that Stadium, or do you have to rely on the big screens. Personally, I prefer to watch from the home TV as the cameras are all set up and zoom in on the relevant bits, so coverage is more focussed and seemingly more in the right places? So being at the stadium, is it really better? Also I have also heard there has been a lot of burglaries in broad day light, literally, people just walking into the hotels and just going through stuff to take... Would be grateful for those sharing the experience...

It is always watching on the TV that gives lot of excitement and value for the time spent.Watching in the stadia is just like a ritual that takes away some of the attention from enjoying the game.

I personally prefer to watch from the TV as it's more comfortable at home and you still get to see all the inportant close up shots :) xx
