My usb modem is giving me really bad speed... Help!

As mentioned in the title, my digifon usb modem has really been pissing me off. I only get 1 to 5 KBps... Can anyone help??

i think u need to change your service provider.....my friend and me have the same connection of broadband...i have connected my pc with data cable and he has connected with usb cable...so the speed between us varies...for me it gives 1.5 mbps and for him it is only 512 kbps.....i havent used usb modem so i can answer properly ...i think u r having plug to surf which is totally wireless....it is nice for use u can take it anywhere but connection with wire gives more speed than wireless one....and i have also heard that in cloudy weather the wireless usb modem gives very less speed.....hope this will help

well that's something to think about.. well i guess i have to be content. i know my country has an edge network but sadly it stops in the village next to mine. i had the modem in my cousin's laptop and walked and literally saw the purple (edge) indicator turn yellow (gprs)... so sad...

Maybe you can ring the service provider and ask them if there is a technical problem with their network. Check your signal quality. Maybe you have a usb2 modem and using a usb1 slot. It would still work, not properly. I havn't seen a usb2 modem in Australia maybe other countries have them. Or 3 you have ran out of data and speed has been slowed down for that reason. Or your computer is infected with a virus. If all that is ok im sure you be having faster connection.
