The purpose of the Royal Family?

I've never been a supporter of the Royal family here in the UK but then they are an age-old institution that gives Britain a more defined identity - tourists love the whole novelty of them, but personally I think they have outlived their appeal ever since Diana, princess of Wales died in an accident as far back as 1997. The future of her two sons remains to be seen when it is likely that prince Charles and his wife Camilla will end up taking the place of the Queen when she dies sometime in the near future, so by the time that this happens, Harry and William will be well into their thirties and society fed up of paying taxes to continue keeping them afloat! What do others think on this matter?

To be honest I agree with you. It is a nice novelty as I myself would be a tourist going to see the royal family lol. However, if I were living there I probably would be fed up with the idea of royalty as well. Things like this take time to change, and a forcasted 30 yrs may be enough. If one were really interested in ending such things, one would be wise to spread word like wildfire and see what could be done about it. Goodluck!
