Often in my travel, i see street children roaming the streets. Seeing them beg for money or food makes me ask why life is unfair to those kids born in those family. How do you see them? a) I pity them because of their lack in basic needs b) I pity them because they will not enjoy life the way I enjoy it c) I envy them because they know how to enjoy life with just a little of everything d) I admire their ability to smile in spite of their situation e) I dont care because it is not my fault that these kids are in these lives f) what kids??????

I pity them because they lack basic needs. Some of them will even grow up to be criminals. I think the problem lies with the parents. Not considering the outcome of what they are doing and basically leaving the children in the streets. I hope that the government will be able to find a way to solve this problem to keep this children out in the street and give them a better life and good future.

I don't care... I am not a cold-hearted person, but... yeah, I pity them... and so? Can my kind-hearted PITY do something about it? That's why I don't care. Blame the society. Blame everyone, blame yourself. Why do these kids out there? Roaming around, begging for money. Where are their parents? Why did they do this to their children? What did the society do to the parents to make these children roam in the street? Life is so... weird.. and unfair. Isn't it?

Maybe we have to blame their parents for they are supposed to take care of their children. Some parents do let their children beg for food or money instead of them giving food for their children. They let their children do the job.

lantisred, life is never fair. Even the Bible narrates to us stories about life not being fair. But that is life. The challenge we have is how to live our lives. We see children deprived of the basic necessities in life - so what do we do? If we have excess money, do we give to charity? If we have spare time, do we join feeding programs to help the less fortunate? The poor will always be there. Will we be there for them?

I would choose both A and D... I pity them because they are lack of the basic needs they don't have s house to sleep, they don't have clothes to wear and most of all they don't have the foods to eat...sometimes when i pass the street and i may happen to see them, i thank God for providing me what i have now and i thank God also that i am like them...i really pity them.... I admire those kids also for in spite of the life situation that they have they can still smile as if nothing was wrong....

We can do something about it, and give their necessities by just sending your help to the local government or any charitable institutions. Lets help save the street children, Because the children are the only hope of our nation!!

dear lantisred, i had my share of those unsightly things when i went to cebu several years back. i didnt travel by airplane but by ship and i was on my way to manila to attend a seminar. stop over in cebu i decided to disembark for a while and buy things i could bring to manila. i got disappointed over what i saw.. children some almost half naked begging for money and food and on a busy street. makeshift bedsheets used as baby's bed hung from one pole to another litter the alleys for people to walk on. beggars are everywhere. i didnt expect anything like this because the city is well known. i wonder what the department of social welfare is doing for them. ann

Wow, nice to find a kababayan here. I am from Manila and I see this regularly. Saddens me the most is even the parents are out of sight to even protect them from harm. Sigh! If only I could.....(fill in the blanks):)God bless

Kids are innocent, their miserable life can be blame to their parents. It is the parents who were to be blame for all the miseries those kids were suffering. They are too young to suffer the difficulties of life that,it must be their parents obligation to fed those kids. They should be enjoying life of being a child and going to school, but life was never been too good for them.(ah,it's not life that make them miserable,it is their parents, and,it's not being unfair for them to be born from such kind of parents/family) There is a reason why they are born from those family, there is always good reason behind that. Those kids are there to remind us,that life is what we make it. Have a good weekend

Whenever I see those kids I feel angry with the situation they are in and the people who put them in that situation. I feel pity for them and at the same time hate those who exploits them. Some of these children have parents. I know that from experience. I've been a volunteer with an NGO fighting for violence against women and children and encountered a lot of cases where the children are forced to beg in the street for food and money because their parents tell them to do so. Both the parents are not working or if they are working their money is just spent for drinking and gambling. Some of the children are forced by syndicates who used them for their own selfish reason of earning money. I really feel bad about their situation. That's the reason I don't give this children money. I give them food instead. You would even be shocked that some of them won't accept food. They prefer to be given money.

I admire their ability to smile in spite of their situation. Life is really unfair, but i didn't think it that way because i know that all the things happened and supposed to happen has a reason for it to happen. God is always fair to us, he has a reason why he'd separated people from being poor and rich, why he'd created a wise and foolish men, everything in this world has a reason of their existence and the only thing that's left for us is to know what are those reasons and to believe on God's existence. We should't pitied them, we should admire them for their strength and insisting urge to survive.
