Big houses on small blocks...have you noticed this?

I have noticed this alot lately in newly developed areas...you see, I'm one of those annoying people who put catalogues in letterboxes only to pick them up a few days later from your doorstep with or without an order...anyway, the area which I deliver catalogues to is a fairly well off area that has a few mansions...in the areas that are really new & especially waterfront properties, I have noticed that the houses are way too big for the block of land they are on as once the house is there, there is hardly any front or back yard...have you noticed this?
