When God calls.

June 27, 2010, Sunday, my relatives in father side gathered for the interment of uncle Vicente at Heritage Park. Actually, I did not know him that much because we have not given so much time to spend together that often. In fact, I met him in person four or five times only and that were very long time ago and I do not know if he could still recognize me either. All I know is that he is the husband of auntie Mely, the fourth elder sister of my dad. They have been blessed of four loving and wonderful sons who were very successful with their own respective career. At first, they said, uncle Vicente does not believe in the bible and therefore they assumed that he does not believe in God; but he did not contradict with my auntie and his son's faith. Years ago he was diagnosed to have throat tumor. His family prayed for him before it was removed and it was successful. Thank God! Four months ago, he was diagnosed again but at that time, it was bone cancer (a very painful disease a person could ever have) stage IV because it has already metastasized in his kidneys. It was a very sad news for the family but because they have so much faith in God, they remained calm in handling this situation. I opened up to my dad that maybe the things that had happened to uncle Vicente had a purpose and I am correct. God used uncle Vicente's illnesses to call him in the Iglesia Ni Cristo and three weeks before he died, he was baptized in our church and reunited with God, and even though we are in deepest sorrow and pain because he already left all the people who loved him much for his generosity and kindness not just to his family but to all his friends, we are happy because we know that he is just sleeping for a while and we are going to meet him at the time of salvation and that is why we are very thankful for. In this story, I strongly believe that when God calls a person to become his servant, no one can intervene even the game of death.

I believe that everything in life can be solved, but when it comes time to leave, something is already predestined by God. When we keep our mission on earth will all go one place that is next to Him and we lived there a new stage.

I am sorry for you loss. I am sure he is in a better place and in a better state now. And yes, everything happens for a reason.
