First things to do to be able to find out the purpose of your creation is to have a deep relationship with Jesus Christ.
If you don't have this kind of connection with Jesus then it is high time that you develop one for yourself. Before you could be able to think about God, HE HAS LONG BEEN THINKING ABOUT YOU. Before you were formed in the womb of your mother He already had a purpose for your life. He had long made the plan without your contribution. you can choose your future profession, wife or husband, hobbies and many other things in your life but you cannot choose the purpose of your life. Your life is a part of a bigger purpose of God not only for mankind but for every thing that has life in it which was really intended by God for eternity.
maybe you feel that you are in the midst of darkness and you don't know the purpose of your existence. Just pray for the wisdom of God and then every thing would be fine and clear very soon for you.

First off, welcome to mylot. I wish you the best and educational experience that I have enjoyed since I returned to mylot.
I understand and believe what you saying, in fact, thanks for the reminder, however, I have a question?
If I wanted to establish or deepen my relationship with God (Jesus) how would I accomplish that. What steps would I take?

i believe that the first thing that you should do to start having a deeper relationship with Jesus is to start practicing talking to Him everyday even if you are doing anything. I do that every day and it feels like He is just by my side and watching me whatever i am doing. talk to Jesus when you wash dishes, when you wake up in the morning, when you see something unusual and ask Him to guide you not to give bad comments on that thing, talk to Him while you are cooking or even when you are relaxing. You don't have to make a long prayer. Just tell Him what is in your heart every moment that you can. that would make you feel that you are not alone and that would give you peace of mind. Jesus wants us to be close to Him like we are all family.
