What do you think about Romanian government's austerity measures?

Aiming to narrow the budget deficit, Romanian government has proposed some austerity measures which make thousands people protest. Here are some of the government's measures: - 15 percent cut in pensions - 25 percent reduction in state wages - 5 percent increase of VAT (from 19 percent to 24 percent) Fortunately, the Romania's Constitutional Court said the proposed 15 percent cut of pensions is unconstitutional. The other two proposal became law starting the first of july. Thousand Romanians protested against the austerity measures in Bucharest and other towns.
