This is how much i took from brushing my cat's hairs this morning...this is to help them minimize the hairs they swallow everytime they clean themselves. Hairballs are known to be hazardous to their health and sometimes they can not spit it out (like sort of vommit). This is also the reason why cats feed on grasses. how about you, how do you go around with your cat's hairs??

they get used to the brushing while they were still kittens. Now mine would roll around and over and purr while being brushed... sometimes i get a play scratch specially from my 2 boys which think of nothing but play.

Well I guess it might be different with fewer cats. If we tried it, only the ones who want to be brushed would get brushed.

Since we trimmed our cat's hair, we don't brushed it anymore.. we washed him once a week and his health is looking good now.!

its good that your cat's hairs can be trimmed. My kitten is short-haired, but still i brush her everyday or else she will leave hairs on the carpet and on my bed.

Since we only have short haired cats here, we don't do much brushing and with the cats that are hunters we don't have hair balls. The inside cats sometimes need meds for their hair balls.

i agree with you, cats which are allowed to live in their natural way do not need hair brushing. It is their built-in to keep themselves well. But for those housecats which are not allowed to go out, needs this extra care to replace what is being taken from their supposed- to-be daily activity.

my cats are all short-haired too but they shed alot its making our floor and chairs a mess...also a good reason why i brush their hairs everyday. Or you'll see their hairs sticking on everything like dusts do.

Now I know why my cats eat some of my plants and when they vomit I thought it's their way to detoxify. Thanks for giving some tips. I bathe my cats once every month to make them smell good and free of ticks.

Hallo there merced! I knew about the grass thing from the breeder whom i get my foldy from. And i have read that only the tip of the young cat grasses contain the vitamins they need...uh, i thought at first its the fiber they need. But i still freeze green cat grasses and mix it with the wet food. i also bath my cats..but i use the dry bath, the powder. It leaves a fresh baby smell ont hair hairs.

hi tiger, our "MEO" loves to be pampered all the time...brushing his hair is one of this favorite....whenever he wanted us to brush his hair, all he need to do is go near our leg & touch it & look at us..we knew he wanted it....Yes it is quite important to avoid lots of hairballs....& to make his cat's hair very shiny & smooth...

It is good your cat is so affectionate and knows how to relay his wishes...heheh i have a problem with one of my cat's ( i have 3 ) hairs now, he seemed to create wounds now & then. The vet said it is bec of his sharp tongue. Now i give him dry foods extra for Hair & Skin, plus i give him oil (to be given oral)to bring the shine & health of his hairs back. So far, it helped a little ...only.

The long hair cat gets brushes more often than the short hair cats. But they all get brushed every so often. More often in the spring when they are shedding more.

I brush my cats weekly as they are both long haired, for their health and also to minimize shedding. My cats love to be brushed though, I have to "chase" them around the room because they scoot away, its adorably annoying.
