I guess this oil spilling incident has deep impact on the seafood industry until now. On Friday night I work at my part - time, which is a restaurant job, the chef told me that the all the whole fishes are out, because the supplier doesn't have any at stock, and even they have, the price will be too expensive. Well, with so much disappointment, some customers really have craving for fishes that night, they couldn't get it, and we also have to explain that situation. So, do you be able to get some fish from your restaurant dining these days?

So far we do not have any problem in Winnipeg, Manitoba, but we heard that the wild salmon is disappearing or going someplace else on the west coast. I did notice that cans of salmon have gone up. Since we are only a couple and my husband cannot eat anymore because of his als, buying a large salmon or any sized fish even frozen fillets is out of the question. That is because even the smallest sized comes in four people portions. And of course, our fish has to be imported because we do not live near the Ocean. I spent a little under $20 for 4 individual packages of frozen salmon as I figured I needed fish once a week. I would love to go to a restaurant and have a salmon or even a prawn, shrimp, or lobster, by they are too high right now. The trouble is since fish is good for you, our health will suffer because it also means that cod liver oil, and fish oils that one gets in tablets or in liquid form will also go up as well.

Hi, There are alot of different kind of fishes in the wet market. Some are quite expensive especially for pompret fish. I am not a fish expert, and normally I will go for either white or black pompret. I also love stingray, but never saw this fish available in the market.

well we are living in a tropical country so its easy to get fish here. But when there are storms and such we find it hard to look for cheap fish to buy.

I saw a documentry on TV about 6 months ago, way before this Oil spill occured, and the guy presenting it told of how fish are decreasing, so many fishermen are out, and instead of releasing fish they don't want back into the sea they just let them die, some species are on the verge of being extinct, the fisherman are not giving them a chance to breed to repopulate. I remember the guy telling a crew of students if they don't cut down on all this fish we will soon be eating Jelly Fish!! He gave a sample for them to eat and they said it was disgusting. He dipped them into batter and it wasn't so bad. But he said in a few years that will be only Fish available:(
