you need to have an appropriate instructor upon learning Kung Fu... since Kung Fu is extremely hard to learn in self-learning process only....

I think you should go for it i previously studied jeet kune do for 2 years and am now studying Urban krav maga on the side i used to study muay boran for its kicks and elbow techniques at home and i was still easily able to integrate those moves into a sparring match with friends at jeet kune do or krav maga. I will say this though, you should definatly have a partner with you its a lot easier than practising on the air as you can get used to distances and precision and remember the key to jeet kune do is speed accuracy and power and also jeet kune do is not a style it is more of a concept.

There are some really great video training material out there, but they can be hard to find, depending on the art. I don't know about the particular art you are referring to, what's out there for training material. That said, not everyone can effectively train on their own. When a master, or teacher, has their grandmaster/teacher teach from long distances, it's how they do the majority of their training. They would go for a visit and record their training sessions...then continue to train from those recordings until they see their teacher again. It's not uncommon...and for the right person, very effective. But again...it isn't for everyone. If you do find quality (a I will stress quality) material and still want to train at home...I would strongly suggest at the very least to find an instructor as close as you can to make periodic trips for private lessons. Even if you can only afford it a few times a year, it's better than nothing. This way he/she can make sure you are progressing properly and give any further instruction. Perhaps even record your training so you don't forget what you were taught. If you do choose to go the home route, I only hope you have the ability to catch on quickly and pick up the concept of the art correctly. If not, you will be lacking in the end.

Hi, Among the many people who tried to learn kung fu in home, only one succeeded. You don't understand a simple thing. Kung fu is not about fighting. Of course, you can use it in that purpose too. But the sole purpose of martial art is to infuse into you some extraordinary features like humiliation, self-reliance, mental agility or, reflex, integrity and kindness. These things can only be achieved if you learn it from a master. Also if you try to learn it at your home, there is a high possibility that you may hurt yourself. Thanks. God bless you

I feel you should learn from a master instead of picking up to books or videos. You might get it wrongly and injured yourself in the process. Even if not, the moves might be wrong and there is no one to correct it for you.
