I know most will say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. But I feel that I can't really enjoy my breakfast as I have to hurry up to go to work or to do something. I always look forward to dinner time coz this is the time when all family members are present, we can take our time to enjoy the food more coz we don't worry about being late. This is also our venue for sharing the day's experiences. So I plan the food to be served at dinner than any other meals during the day.

Hi doryvien, I'm back! When I was working we do have the same set-up, I prefer dinner time to be the most important meal for me as this was the only time that I can prepare a more nutritious and appetizing meal for the family. But now that I am a full time homemaker I do have a lot of time cooking for my husband who's coming home for lunch, and so we both enjoy eating together with our son who starts taking solids. Besides I'm beginning to be concious of my diet that I feel less guilt eating more during lunch than during dinner time. For breakfast a cup of milk or tea with a toast is enough for me.

Hi Sean, Good to see you here again! Your husband must be very happy now that you are a full time wife and mom, and he doesn't only have dinner to look forward to, he now enjoys your cooking all day long. I can see a happy, lucky husband there. Welcome back to myLot! Missed you here.

Yeah, he should savour every bite of his freshly cooked food at the moment as this might be temporary. I miss my old days in the office, though I enjoy every moment with my son I still can't imagine myself being domesticated my whole life. Yes, it was a long while to get adjusted with the routine of being a full time wife and a mom but now I want to get back to my social networking life...missed you too! i

So, you're planning to go back to work now? I would love to trade places with you, I've longed to be a full time mom and wife, but it's not possible right now. But yes, when you're home most of time, you also kinda get bored and think of doing something else other than the household chores.

Hi...yes, majority would say breakfast is the most important meal. Particularly those who prioritize good diet and considered the rules in taking meals. However, those who are busy and working at day time has no time to enjoy their breakfast. For me, I enjoy my meal at lunch time. Because i dont have time to enjoy my breakfast coz I have to hurry up going to office. I do not eat much in dinner because I also consider my diet.

HI Grazian, I have some friends who skip dinner because they are on diet, some follow the "after 6" (or something to that effect), a diet program() that discourages eating before 6pm. Some have attested it's an effective way to lose weight. Haven't tried it though.

Hi, doryvien. Dinner is most important to me. As a family, we all can sit down and share conversations together. It is a bond that we all enjoy. Dinner is fun and the food is great enough to enjoy.

aside from the fact the most or all members of the family is present during dinner, it is also the time that we don't have to hurry eating our meals, because we only have to wait for the bedtime. in most working people, breakfast and lunch is not so much enjoyed because you think about going to work after eating.

Hi Neil, I agree. We tend to see dinner as bonding time because it allows more time and everyone doesn't have to hurry to go somewhere else. As to breakfast and lunch, I know they are equally important too coz we need to have the energy they provide as we go about our activities for the day.

For me, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Ever since I was a kid I always eat breakfast, and if ever I tend to miss it I'm already starving even before the clock strikes 10am. I also look forward to dinner time, just like your reason, the family is all present at this time of meal.

Hi Bonz, Breakfast definitely wins them all, and the reason seems to be universal. Dinner is a family affair more that the breakfast is, coz this is when everyone is present and gets the chance to be in touch with everyone...Welcome to myLot, you won't regret joining this site.

doryvien, Breakfast is the most important meal to meal especially coming off more than 9 hours after my last meal i.e. dinner on the previous day and starving I just have to have my breakfast. I do not know about you, but I find myself having a big appetite when I wake up in the mornings where I just cannot afford not to eat and go to work with a growling and hungry stomach. Your rush here may indicate that you are a waking up close to your working hours which explains your lack of enthusiasm or hunger for breakfast and rush. You may want to reconsider waking up a little earlier to wash and prepare yourself for the day ahead.

Hi Sky, Can't argue with that . I know that most would say breakfast is the most important meal of the day. I think it is the most important because the energy it provides help us go through the day. As for me, I'm not a breakfast person, and I tend to enjoy dinner more coz it also becomes our family bonding. But I never actually skip breakfast, I just prefer it light like a cup of coffee, a piece of bread, a fruit and/or a glass of juice. I think though that I should consider your suggestion.

Definitely breakfast is the most important meal of the day. For me I take the time to enjoy that meal because even if I do not get to eat that much on my other meals I am fully satisfied with what I ate for breakfast. The only reason other people may not see it as the most important is because they do not make an effort to a lot an hour to eat before going to work. On the otherhand, it also depends on the person because some does not necessarily eat for breakfast and so for some lunch is very much important like breakfast.

,HI Sublime, Yes, most people would agree with you, including myself, to a certain extent. I guess you're right that it only takes an extra effort to be able to have this important meal, maybe wake up a little earlier, move faster, etc. Maybe I should try it

Hi Reetu3, It seems dinner is viewed as a good way to bond with the whole family. And why not, when this is a good time to share the experiences each one had during the day .

I could manage to skip breakfast and not eat dinner but I would never let a day roll by without eating lunch, lest my I'd suffer severe head pain. I have been like this since I became independent from my parents at the age of 20.

,HI Rose, Well yes, some would not take anything at all except lunch, although most health buffs these days say it's not healthy to skip meals. This is mostly practiced by those who intend to lose weight or follow some diet program. I just hope you have a complete, heavy meal since it seems you only take one full meal in a day. It would help also if you have frequent light snacks throughout the day, to keep those hunger pangs away.

Breakfast is certainly the most important meal to me because I can't stand to start the day on an empty stomach. I feel hurried in the morning as well as I'm getting ready for work but even if my morning meal consists of only a couple of bowls of cereal(which it usually does) it is certainly not a meal I want to skip.

HI Dogsnme, Breakfast gives the energy we need for the whole day's activity, which makes it really important to most people. Yeah, it is not good to skip breakfast, and cereals is a good choice. As for me, most of the time I just drink a cup of coffee, or anything to fill the stomach, and that's it until the next mealtime.

I start working at 8am. But because I always wake up late, by the time I arrive in the office, there's no time for me to have my breakfast anymore. I always have a heavy meal during lunch, eating rice, vegetable and/or chicken. Lastly I will have a slice of fruit if I feel like crossing the road to buy it. Night time I skip my dinner sometimes because by the time I reach home, I feel tired and I often sleep for couple of hours before waking up and shower and face my laptop. So I think for me the most important mealtime is lunch because I can eat quite a lot to cover for breakfast and dinner.

Hi Chi2nasrin, Wow, that's a complete meal indeed. Yes, some prefer light breakfast or none at all but feast over a big meal during lunchtime. I do eat heavy meal during lunchtime too, but nothing beats dinner.

I am a student and have morning classes, so I am always in a rush in the mornings, and therefore, I usually skip breakfast. I usually don't have a lot of time for lunch either so I just grab a sandwich or something of the sort. I usually spend time preparing dinner though, so that is my favourite meal of the day as I am not in a hurry and can relax during dinner.

Hi Malihat, While I don't skip breakfast, it is to me the most neglected meal as I usually just grab a small bread and cup of coffee, and that's it. No time to even think about how the bread tastes or if the coffee was perfect. Like you, I have more time preparing for the dinner. Have a good day!
