My paternal grandparents were from a Danish island called Bornholm, and part of my father's family still lives there. Unfortunately is expensive to go there and I haven't been there for 11 years. I am a little sad about that, because I like my father's cousins and their children and I would like to see them more often. The island where they live is really beautiful and there are many nice places. I hope that I will be able to show my husband that island one day and introduce him to my relatives Do you have any relatives that you can't see very often, because they live far away from your home? When did you last see them?

I do not have relatives who live so far from me. The further relatives from me live about 300 km we can easily go to our relatives with car. Gasoline in nowadays is very expensive for 1l in my country need to pay $1.60 dollars. It is very sad to hear that your relatives live so far from you. Denmerk is very beautiful country, but usually islands is more beautiful. I hope that one day you and your husband travel to this islands. Good luck, Have a nice day!

Thank you very much for your response Yes, gasoline is expensive, unfortuneately the prices in my country are similar to the ones in your country. When my husband and I visit other parts of the country we usually try to do as many things as possible while we are there in order to save money on gasoline. We have many islands in Denmark, I also think that they are very beautiful and I enjoy vistiting them.

I have also heard that maternal grandparents tend to have a closer relationship to the grandchildren than paternal grandparents, but I don't think that it is always like that. You are lucky that your relatives live close to your home, that way it is easier to meet and keep in touch.

My parents and my brother live in the province. I have to travel 45 minutes by plane to reach home. Although, plane tickets are no longer that expensive in our country, but because of time constraint, I am not able to go home on a regular basis. Plus of course, now that I have my own family, I find it not practical anymore to go home on a regular basis. Lucky for me I was able to go home just last month. I wish I can visit them more often now that I have a baby on the way. If not, them visiting me and my other siblings here would be a better idea.

Yes I have! I'm already 27 years old when I first came to our province my mother's hometown, because I'm very busy with my studies at that time and we don't have a lot of money to spend for a vacation. But my grandfather always visit us in manila so we still have plenty of time to see him. I'll pray that God bless you more with your finances and specially time to show your husband your father's hometown and relatives. God bless you and you whole family and clan.

Thank you very much Yes, I hope that I will be able to show him the island where my grandparents used to live. I visited my father's family when I was a child, and my brother and I had a really good time with my father's nephews and nieces. We took lots of pictures because we knew that we weren't going to meet again for a long time. One of my father's nieces and I exchanged letters when we were teenagers, but we haven't met for a very long time.
