Beanie Weenie

How thick or thin do you like to slice your weenies when you make beanie weenie??? I used to slice them fairly thick to get over the tedious chore of slicing. I don't like slicing and dicing at all. Today I tried slicing them thin, though...like about 1/8" to 1/4" thick as opposed to 1/2". I think it made the whole dish taste better. The seasonings from the weenies blended more quickly with the beans so the whole thing had more flavor. One more question...when you open your can of Porknbeans do you skim off the porkfat? I always do...who needs the extra fat, right?

These sounds good. I have not made them in a very long time. Often I leave them whole, because my husband will not eat warm pork and beans. He eats the hot dogs and I eat the beans.
