People searches returning zero results - argh!!

Hello fellow Mylotters,
I am having some rather frustrating difficulties on Facebook and am hoping that somebody out there will be able to help me resolve it. Whenever I search for people on Facebook I constantly get told that there are no results and am propmted to enter the person's email address. The thing is, though, that I know that these people are on Facebook (several of them told me to add them as friends and other people have successfully found them) but I cannot locate them at all. I am having no luck finding anybody!
Does anybody have any idea as to what the issue is?

maybe they are using a different name or e-mail address on facebook that's why you can't find them. also make sure you are not searching for them in the wrong country. it's easy to get it figured out. just check the search criteria or settings. if you really can't find them, ask them to find you instead....

Thanks for the response. I've been searching from the box at the top of the Facebook page. It'll give me a list with a couple of people who have the same name, stating 'top two results'; but when I choose to search more people I'm advised that there aren't any and am prompted to enter an email address.
I wouldn't have found it to be so unusual had it not happened with so many people.

I think its the network your in. Like im in the Los Angeles network so when i search it searches through people in that network.

Thanks for the tip. I'll try and adjust my network settings and see if that helps.

could they have their privacy settings to where they cant be found? i think there is an option to not show up in searches.. but if there are a lot of them what are the chances?!?! seems like one day fb will show no one then the next day you get 100.. it might just be fb screwing up

Capitalization will ocassionally play a role in if you get any results or not. Check your spelling. Try using only the last name and make sure you capatilize it.
