I have decided I hate work

So a lot of people hate work because it's not fun, but that's not what I am complaining about. I don't enjoy my job however, it's do-able because I meet some interesting people. The thing that really made me hate my job today is because my manager took it upon herself to have a heart to heart talk with me about my appearance. I was wearing makeup today. Eyeliner mascara and foundation. Well she first asked me if I was wearing make-up when she walked in and i said yes. Then she continued to ask why. i told her it was because 1. I was sun burt so that's why I was wearing foundation then because that wasn't a good explanation I came up with #2. I was practicing for a show I was going to be doing at the end of the month. Well she said that I'm not allowed to wear makeup to work because it was inappropriate, and that confused me. I asked her how it was inappropriate and she said it was because I was a boy . Now I understand people's concerns about dressing as a female in the work place so I don't... but honestly... i don't see how this could possibly be inappropriate in any way. Honestly I got a lot of compliments, and almost everyone went on to say that I look much better with makeup, which hurt a little but still... What do you think? (sorry for the long rant )
