Actually, how many people out there still don't believe that our social security will out of its fund sooner and later? I had talked to a couple of people, and they have doubt on it. They still believe that when they retired, the social security will still take care of them, and that is why they paying the taxes for. Actually, what we are paying right now is for the people who already reaching their retirement age now. But when we get retired, we have none. We gotta depend on ourselves and neither the government, nor other charity institutions will help us out here. There is rumor spreading about the government will plan on pushing the retirement age further to 70. Would you still be able to work about that age, and some one will still hire you? Otherwise, you must have your own business going on. There is really a bleak future ahead of us.

I really doubt if that will push through. People won't be able to enjoy their retirement if they push it to 70. Only a handful of people reach beyond the age of 70 so I think it is very unreasonable for them to do that.

Well, the reason they doing this because our health expectation will be longer. In the past, not many people live through 70 I believe. Nowadays, people are getting healthier don't you think? More people concerning about health, and they want to eat healthy, live healthy. That will elongate their life expectancy. That is why 70 of age seems no such issue with government.

I never heard that kind of rumor maybe because I am not really watching television too much nowadays. I am not even watching news now. But if that would happen I feel aggravated and will be cheated by own government. Its not right to further the retirement to 70 that is really too much. I hope our government will think intelligently and more wiser for the benefits of the citizen in this country but not really would benefited them. I hope they will put themselves on last. No more corruption so that people will get there money

It is inevitable, because the social security fund will be depleted sooner and later. You have to think about that is the only way. Not that I am pro of this decision, but to push back the retirement age means that when you reached your 70, the younger generation can pool more money to support you through taxes.
