Some people say that a cat has 9 lives. Well I have a fruit fly that has 100s, if not 1000s of lives! EVERYDAY when I'm on the computer, this little guy pays me a visit, hovering around in front of my face for a while before landing on my computer screen and crawling about. It's at this point I think to myself, what good if any does this creature have to offer me? And I always come up with the same answer.........NOTHING! So I swiftly and mercifully execute him/her under the tip of my finger........I know it's dead.........i can see it's little splatted carcass on my computer screen which I then wipe off and dispose of. End of story right? WRONG!!! The next day the little fella is back, hovering in my face and searching for the finger of fate. Now, I know what you're thinking........"well bear, obviously you have more than one fruit fly........you may have a whole colony....swarm....herd.........or whatever you call a gaggle of fruit flies" But if that was the case, why don't I ever see multiple fruit flies? I only see the ONE fruit fly.......and once I kill him/her, that's it for the day..........I don't see anymore. Everyday...........one fruit fly only! That's 7 a week or 365 a year..........you would think if I had multiple fruit flies, just once I would see 2 or 3 at a time.........but no, it's just the one guy, once a day. That's why I'm convinced it's the same fly. Another way I can tell, is he/she ALWAYS LOOKS EXACTLY THE SAME! So obviously fruit flies have figured out the art of resurrection........or someone is cloning the little suckers. OH.........and here's the real kicker..........There's NEVER even any fruit in the house! Have you experienced any strange phenomi.......phenum......phenemeo......phemin...............ANY WEIRD HAPPENINGS LATELY??? Do you think fruit flies believe in reincarnation?

You're haunted by a ghost fruit fly. The only way you will ever get rid of it is to dance around a burning pile of fruit on one foot for exactly 7 minutes and 11 seconds. You can thank me later.

It's a small price to pay, right? Anyway, now you don't have to cook.

Oh poor little thing. He needs to die several times. Maybe you're house is being haunted, well what am I thinking. A lot of weird things happened to me lately, but not in any relation to fruit flies. Sometimes, I experienced that my TV offs automatically without using the off button and the remote is on top of it. So I wondered how come it shut off by itself. same thing with my electric fan, it shut offs by itself and on again without any use of remote and not even having a brown out. The other week, my son's walker tuned in singing twinkle twinkle little star without even pushing the start button. Weird isn't it. Well, I'm just hoping that our house is not haunted as what I am thinking. Ohhh I'm really scared if it does.

Phenomenon~~(giggling) That fruit fly has hundreds of lives, Bear. He comes back just to taunt you. I have lot of them in the kitchen whenever the compost bucket on the counter gets full. Once I take it out to dump, they seem to disappear for awhile. What is really strange is with no fruit in the house, there shouldn't be any fruit flies.
