I received the following email from Starbucks: Thank you for your interest in joining the Starbucks team. We have reviewed your qualifications for the store manager position, and need to inform you that we are pursuing other candidates at this time. We wanted to let you know so that you can continue to explore other opportunities. We encourage you to keep an eye on our online Career Center for new opportunities that may be a good match for your skills and experience. Thank you again, and on behalf of Starbucks Coffee Company, we wish you every success in your career search. Warm regards, Starbucks Recruiting Team Do you think it is still likely that I get picked for this job? :-|

Nope. Definitely. They just don't say it to you directly but they are already empasizing that you are not qualified. They are just being polite thats why they send you this kind of letter. If you can see they already offering/encouraging you to move on and look for another job. I suggest look for other job now, instead of depending or hoping to starbucks.

I think that sounds a poor way for the company to explain things to you. In the past I went to an interview and got a letter saying I had been successful but they didn't have a job available. I didn't end up working for them but they kept my CV on file. I imagine star Bucks have interviews some people but haven't found the right person yet. They sound like they haven't decided yet who they will have for the manager's job. You have a 20% chance of being picked for this job I guess. Good luck.

Most companies do that. I think its the nicest for them to tell you that they are not going to hire you since they already said "continue to explore other opportunities". I think its obvious what they're trying to put off.
