How to manage your time by being a student

July 15, 2010 1:41pm CST
It's a little bit hard to manage your time when you're a student. Especially if you're a full time student because you always think, 'I have all the time in the world, I'll study later.' So you end up NOT studying because you get preoccupied with whatever it is that you've been doing.

Hi, i'm a high school student so i can understand what you mean here. Well, actually you just need to manage your time better. example: Study-you can set your time in studying, like 1 hour per day, 2 hours, 3 hours, depending on your need, and will. Play- even if you study 2 hours, you still got like.. 22 hours in the day? or let's just say 14 hours, cutted by your sleep time. supposedly that's a lot. more brief example: if you go to school at 7.am and go home at 2.pm then you can play until 5.pm then study for 1 hour until 6.pm then the rest until 10-11.pm you can still do a lot of things! well, the point is, just manage your time better. :)

I agree, you have to get organized and set goals. What I do with my studying is a little different. I have two classes and I work from home so what I do is I tell myself that I cannot do anything else until chapter 11 is read. then I can go and do something like eat or anything else I need to do giving myself a little break then I get back and read the next chapter or whatever else is on my task to do for that day. If you write down everything you need to get done that week and try your best to knock them down at the begining of the week you'll not only do better in school you'll also have more time for yourself where you arent worrying about getting your school stuff done, youll have a clear head to have fun.

Have a Vision (why are you doing all of this?. Allow me to stress out some points. Don't forget the "big picture" - why are you doing the task - is it important to your long-term personal goals? Have and follow a personal mission statement (personal and career). (Are your activities ultimately helping you achieve your goals?) Know what is important to you.(What do you value most?) Have a positive attitude! Good day to you! :)

as a student ..i never had issues with time management..as long as you prioritize everything.. time is a luxury... i prioritized studying over going out with friends and hanging out in the malls..if i know i've got a lot of stuff to study.., i will go home early but if there's no quiz or exams the next day.., that is the time i get out and have fun... i don't get tempted when my friends would invite me out and i have to study because i programmed myself to do so..so it's a matter of mindset and self discipline...good luck...

I never learned how to study on my own during high school and college because whenever I tried my mind goes somewhere else.I would even read a novel instead coz I became so sleepy if I read on the classroom lessons. So what I did was to do my best to keep listening in class especially in the moment before the exam when everybody is having a last minute discussion.

Yes, it is very hard to manage the time when we were student, some time we did not get time to finish even our home work and on top of that if we have test. We can't get a time to talk with friend or any one because we were busy all the time.I have a habit of making study time table and I used to manage it.

Yes,it is harder to manage our time when we are student. I always follow my time to do my word, lot of time i spend on study compare to my others. First i complete my home work then i spend time for study. Being as student we never get a free time to play with our friend and meet our relatives. All the time we have to spend our time with book. When our exam is started, we cant even get time to eat properly. Being as student we should know that time is very important in our daily life, we shouldn't miss our single minutes.

We have to manage the time as "Time and tide waits for none".Time will not wait for us if we don't follow it accordingly. As a student we have to make study and rest timetable and follow accordingly. Its useless if we don't follow after making it.

end up NOT studying is a bad habit and it is not to be allowed and practiced. the prime duty of a student is to acquire knowledge at all levels . in school/colleage and in the other time by reading news papers and listening to general knowledge related television channels and attending forums . this jobs are besides your home work and assignment and daily study . study later will collapse you one day and put u in trouble
