Did you plant a garden this year?

I usually have some sort of a garden. This year I planted a whole bunch of stuff: kale, peppers, lots of tomatoes, zucchini, etc. and they're doing great! (much to my amazement!) I have thought about planting veggies in pots on the deck or in pots in the windows during the winter. Do you have a garden? What are you growing? Bonus question: How do you keep up with... WEEDS?!! :D

I didn't plant a garden this year. In fact we've just bought the land where we will build our house and plant our garden. We only planted 6 trees (two apple trees, two cherry trees, one quince tree and one sour cherry tree). Unfortunatelly, one cherry tree has dried, and I don't know why. :(

Thank you, rrw410. We had been in negociations for this property for 4 years when we signed the papers. So I had time to plan every detail about what trees to plant and where. Yet we didn't plant all the trees we wanted, because we signed the papers in March, and we were afraid the trees could not resist if planted so late. But 5 of 6 resisted.

We are in winter now in my country and I´m preparing everything for my spring garden. I have taken up from the soil small seedlings and planted them in small pots under cover. Although we usually have mild winters, this winter has been very cold. Weed are a pest: I accept that my garden wil have some as they always win. Welcome to mylot!

Thanks for the welcome! :) That's a good policy: accepting the fact that your garden will have weeds. I have been pulling weeds nonstop, and I still have lots of weeds to contend with. But the plants are doing so well, I don't really care about some weeds. I just keep working at getting rid of many of them so my plants will grow well. It's great that you are preparing for your spring garden! I'm not so organized! I usually start a garden in the spring without winter preparation. Thanks for your response!
