How to start a solicitation letter?

Actually, I want to start a small business myself and with my friend too. We actually have some products to sell, mostly are imported. Now, we are not really success with the online sale, because some of the inquiries aren't legit as we contact that person, or communicate with them. Now, we are trying to sell our products through mail advertising, or door - to - door tactics. Now, we want to start with the mail advertising first. Do you have idea how to start a solicitation letter first? I scratched my head all day long, and I can't think of a good starting letter to introduce our products yet.

I would suggest making the product sound like a they absolutley NEED it. Let them know, what it can do for them how out it will improve the tasks at hand (or improve whatever the product is designed to do). Always make sure the customer is NUMBER 1! Place a picture in the letter to make it a little more appealing. Try researching some good sales letter tactics! There are so many different things you can do, but it is finding the most suitable for your product that is difficult! GOOD LUCK!!!
