I am serious about this, but I have already seen the christmas stock coming out in the shops already! Maybe not the christmas decorations and festive stuff just yet, but I have already seen the shops sneaking out lots of things that llok like good christmas presents. Plus the big Summer Sale over here in the UK seems to still be going on into the third week, and oh, I'm sure so many people must have started to think, 'oooh, I think I could buy this for so and so and save it for christmas'! Have you noticed it too? :)

Here in the States in the southeast where I live we have a store called Hobby Lobby...it's a big arts/crafts/hobbies supply store. I went in there just a few days ago and noticed someone putting out what looked like Christmas decorations. Christmas is the biggest shopping period of the year over here and businesses as well as people like to get an early start. It drives me crazy because when I was a kid I remember that you never saw or heard anything related to Christmas...commercials, decorations, Christmas gift merchandise, music, etc...until after Thanksgiving. It just goes to show how much Christmas has been commercialized and people have forgotten the true meaning of Christmas.

Well, whether Jesus was born in September or December is not really the point. December 25th, Christmas Day, is the day that Judeo-Christian religions have adopted as the day on which they celebrate Jesus' birth, the real reason for the season. And it may be that other religions choose a different day to celebrate Christmas, I don't really know. What I do know is that Jesus is the Son of God, was born of a virgin, and that is why those who put their faith in Jesus Christ celebrate Christmas as his birthday. I don't know who says that Christ was born in September. But, many things that you read and hear you really have to take with a grain of sand(or is it a grain of salt?). The only thing you can really trust as the absolute truth is the Word of God...the Bible. Outside of that, nothing else is really very important.

It's a shame, I used to love christmas so much and as you say it's been commercialised so much that it's just lost the whole real idea of it...by the way, apparently, Jesus wasn't even born at Christmas, they said it was actually around September!
