Yesterday I was reading a blog that I think said something about a software program that helped a writer map or diagram ideas for writing an article, a story, etc. Has anyone heard of this? Is such a software on the market? If so, do you know the name of it? If there isn't a software, is there a web site that helps you do this? I'm not sure exactly what the blogger was referring to when I read it.

I recently joined a group called profitarticle.com who give instructions for writing articles and posting on the web. For article writing they offer two methods - one which uses software called'Article Creator Software' (which does cost to download) and the other is a manual method. They give lots of hints and helps and being new to this type of thing I have found it quite helpful. Note: it costs about $50 US to join 'profitarticle' but they are extremely helpful and actually introduced me to MYLOT. Ihope this helps.

Hi Chuwarbill, Thanks for letting me know about profitarticle.com. I can't afford the $50 to join but it is good that you got a lot of benefit from it. For now I am trying to locate information on my own for success in article writing. I have been able to find quite a bit of information, but nothing beats the experience of others who have already started and are successfully earning some $ writing articles. I also hope to find other methods of writing that will bring in some extra money for us. Best of luck with your writing and thanks again for your information.

Thanks for the suggestion about eHow, Chuwarbill. It would be a good way to get practice with my writing on short articles. It is another one I will look at.

Another area for someone wishing to make money through article writing is writing "How To' articles for sites such as 'eHow'. These are short information articles on almost any topic and area of expertise or experience. It costs nothing to write these articles and from what I've read of others currently earning from this site you build up the number of articles and gradually build a residual income. It could be a good way of perfecting your article writing skills while making money. Hope this helps.

You mean mind mapping software? Some people like using it when writing articles. Apparently it helps them writing everything down they had in their head. I have used it as well in the past but it's not my style of writing.

Hi Diamania, Yes, I guess that is what I mean. I looked up mind mapping software and it is probably far too elaborate for what I had in mind. I guess my mind doesn't work that way either. If I followed such an elaborate mapping it would take a month to complete one article. LOL If there was a simple one just for writers to use according to their choices they plug in that would be nice. : ) It would help so you didn't forget to include things you wanted to include and the like. What method do you use to keep organized and include all the elements you wanted to when you write?

Hi Tinym8 When I was in Toastmasters I learnt a few different methods for preparing speeches which can be adapted to writing articles as well. The first method is the 'Tell Them Method'. First paragraph - Tell them what you are going to tell them (What's your article about). Next - Tell them what you want to tell them (what message do you want to get across - no more than seven points and KISS - Keep it simple and sound - don't jump from idea to idea - progress as if talking face to face with the reader). Last paragraph, sum up what you told them. Is this helpful? Would you like to know the other methods?
