lottery scams

These days I receive lot of mails announcing that your email id is selected for lottery prize of half/1 million GBP.There are mails, sometimes, that inform that somebody has died rich and there is no heir to collect the riches. Why don't you become the heir and collect... Why on earth someone who has not bought lottery ticket can become a lottery winner!Or become heir to a fortune that belonged to person not known..Such mails keep pouring in and when one tries to check the credibility on google, there are instances narrated about fraud, how someone lost money after falling prey to such mails. The scam mails give credibility by giving names like Yahoo/MSN etc etc. There are complaints about such scam mails in various fora. Still, people fall prey.I think, one should totally ignore such mails or select the mail and click on report scam. At the most some checking should be done to ascertain truth. It does not take long to realize that a given mail is scam.

I get that kind of emails all the time. I don't even open them, I delete them as soon as I see the headline. If the mails had been real I would have been a billionaire by now because I have "won" so many lotteries... and I have never participated in single one of them! I also get the other kinds of scam emails like the one that claims that I will get a lot of money if I help a person get the money that he has inherited. That scam has alreasy been around for a long time, but I still get the same kinds of emails.

As you have rightly put it "It does not take long to realize that a given mail is scam." You are indeed wise.

yes.. all such emails are scams and frauds. they send these emails to obtain personal and financial details of people who fall into their trap of greed, and later those people bear horrible losses.
