I find it hard to concentrate in school especially when it is lecture time. It has also affected my social life since I really would like to be in bed most of the time. Even before when I can sleep at least 8 hours a day and sometimes it even reached 10 hours. But still the problem persist. This has been my problem ever since I can remember. Is it some kind of a disorder to feel sleepy all day even though I had enough sleep? Can you share similar experiences?

You dont have any type of disorder , you must concentrate on that particular work you want to do nothing else . Try to make your own routine of doing different works studying sleeping and all force your body to work .

I really hope so. All the people around me also told me that it's all in my head. But the more I concentrate, the more sleepy I get. LOL Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts. It surely encouraged me. :D

You might want to check out if you have anemia or lupus. Those two can make you constantly tired. Pregnancy too....lol

wow! scary! I'd opt to have anemia than lupus of course but it is much better if I don't have any. HAHA! It's also funny to consider pregnancy...it would mean immaculate conception for several years..LOL..What kind of baby would that be? Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts on this. It made me laugh. :D

I feel very tired a lot of the time but in my case it is because I am sleep deprived! I go to bed way too late and get up way too early; if I can manage a nap during the day I usually feel a lot better. In your case if you’re getting enough sleep you may have a vitamin deficiency or may be low in iron. I would suggest a check up at the doctor’s; a simple blood test may reveal the problem. Also it is a good idea to make sure you are eating properly. Good luck...

Ooohh blood test. Hope they have a painless procedure in extracting blood from me. LOL! But of course, I have to remind myself that the pain just go as quick as it comes. Thank you very much for your advice. :D

I am sooo glad to know that someone has this problem too. It's comforting to know that you are not alone in this kind of struggle. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts. Good luck to us! :D

You should try to have regula sleeping patterns so that you won't feel disoriented when you wake up. Try to go to bed and wake up at the same time. You should not sleep less than 8 hours or more than 10 hours (I know this is hard, and I don't obey this rule ). Try to maintain a good sleeping environment. It should be as dark as possible, with minimal noise. I've read that a bright sleeping environment can cause cancer in Readers' Digest. When I find myself unable to concentrate, coffee is the best solution!

Wow! Really? Bright lights can cause cancer..whew! Now I can have a good reason to scold my little sister if she turned on the lights to study when I am sleeping because we share the same room. Thank you sooooo much. It surely helps a lot! :D

I have known people with similar experiences, including myself. I usually relied on caffeine through tea, coffee to get rid of sleepiness. It actually helps a lot, as I found out. Even some soft drinks like Pepsi and Coca Cola have caffeine in them.

Wow! Good for that the coffee works. I tried that one too but it didn't work for me. I don't know why. I really hope coffee works for me too. Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts. :D

I think I am not yet addicted to caffeine. I tried that one too and also black coffee and many more. But they all failed me. Thank you very much for the advice. :D

You can try espresso since they have much higher caffeine content. Regular coffee may not be working for you if you are already addicted to caffeine. Drinking espresso regularly might increase your caffeine addiction, but at the same time, it might get rid of your sleepiness !

yes, I sometimes experience the similar problems like you. Try to check your health conditions, go to doctors or hospitals maybe they can explain your medical conditions because not everyone that experience with this case have the same medical conditions also for the treatment.

LoL! It is indeed a common problem with boring teachers. What I do is I let my seat mates pinch me hard so that it can wake me up or have a nice chat with them just like what you are doing. Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts. :D

Maybe it is a disorder cause I have never encountered anyone who had that kind of problem. I mean, there are times that I also feel sleepy but after I take a nap, everything is okay, I dont feel sleepy anymore. Maybe you just need to get more rest during the night.

That is what I also fear. I have never heard of anyone having this kind of problem too. I'll try to lengthen my sleeping hours as much as possible. Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts. :D

Well, first of all, are you sleeping well, when you sleep? Do you wake up in the night, or sweat a lot, or have nightmares for instance? All of this could have a big impact on your energy level! I also find that eating the wrong things can really make you tired. Try to avoid eating very heavy foods in the middle of the day, for instance, and don't eat too close to bedtime at night, since this will make you sleep less well. I have had these problems myself, and I solved it by starting to eat better and by taking vitamins.

Most of the time, I really have a nice sleep. But still, I wake up tired and weary. I didn't know that it can affect my energy level. I'll try to keep a close watch on my eating habits now. Thank you very much for your advice. It surely helped me. :D

I experienced this too a couple of times but I have also learned to overcome this. When I wake up in the morning, if I still feel sleepy, I do stretching first, then take a bath, and start to repeat the words "I should be active today" in my mind. I suppose it's just all in the mind. If you think you're sleepy, then you will feel sleepy, and you're going to be like that for the rest of the day. But if you will fight it, keep your eyes open, then you will more likely overcome the sleepiness.

haha. i usually experience this when i don't have classes. hmm, what should you do then? . . if you're in favor of coffee, try it. or if not, try soft drinks with caffeine. and try exercising after you wake up. it will help in the circulation of your blood. maybe it can keep you awake.

Yes, I guess I have to try exercise. I have to have the will first to be able to pursue it though and it's healthier than be addicted to caffeine, right? Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts and your encouragement too. :D
