"Water can decrease your appetite", said Mara Z. Vitolins, assistant professor of public health sciences (epidemiology). According to her it is hard to distinguish between being thirsty and being hungry, so try drinking water and wait 20- 30 minutes to see if your still hungry. But how much water is enough??? Vitolins says one way to calculate how much you need is to take your weight in pounds and divide it by two. The result is the number of ounces of water you should drink in a day. So for example a 100 pound woman needs to drink 50 ounces of water each day- just a little more than four 12- ounce glasses, or 3 bottles of water (which usually are 500 mL. or 16.9 ounces). I think many people would greatly benefit by recording the amount of water they drink in a day. Drinking of water is as important during cold months as it is during the summer, she also added. "Most people realize fluid is used to produce sweat which keeps us cool during exercise and the hot temperature of summer, but not as many are aware that the body also needs water to stay warm", she said.

I usually drink more water in the summer as I am easy to sweat,and I used to drink 6 cups of water(about 250ml a cup)a day,but it seems that drinking water has nothing to do with losing weight.I have heard that having soup before eating can be helpful of losing weight as it can eat less.If drinking water can be effective I will drink 20 cups a day,haha!

Maybe it is not just drinking water but also you should include exercise and proper diet. It will help you lose your weight. For you to observe whether it is effective or not maybe you should take your weight before starting the routine to serve as your baseline data, and also self discipline when it comes in maintaining the said routine.

I guess that is true, i have an office mate who stayed slim even after she gave birth. She said that she only drinks about 2 to 3 liters of water a day to keep her ideal weight. Actually, i tried drinking water before meal time and i felt full and my appetite got toned down. Anyway, we only have to have self discipline to be able to do that if we really want to be sexy.

water helps fill you up as well as benefiting the body. i try to drink a lot all year round but even more in the summer because it is easier to become dehydrated.

I drink a lot of water everyday and I don't loose weight. I wish that is true so many of us will be happy.

actually thats true, it helps a lot in losing weight as the more water we drink we become full to the point that we can only eat less food since we are already full. they said to drink a lot when your about to eat meals and its really true, it will also helps to clean toxins inside our body.water intake i guess will depends to the temperature like if its too hot then of course you need to drink a lot of water.

I heard about water loosing weight. I have been trying to drink more water in the past couple of days not drinking enough though. I dont care for the taste lol. I prefer drinking flavored water do not know if that counts as drinking regular water though. But i have been drinking at least 3 bottles of regular water a day which i need to drink more.
