Do your kids stand in line for autographs at Disney?

My kids loved doing this. We have been twice with them. Once at ages 4 and 5. Then again at 5 and 6. They love to meet the characters and get autographs. They are still at the age where they believe and at Disney when a kid believes, it makes the whole entire trip magical. I will miss these days when they pass by.

I went to Disneyworld when I was a child. But my sister and I never stood in line for autographs. To be honest, and I don't remember if we would have wanted them, we were too shy to go up and wait for an autograph.

Lots of kids are shy, but Disney does such a good job of helping with that. The characters they choose are so welcoming and kid friendly and they are so good at staying in character. Last year we went and Thanksgiving and on Sunday night they had a Christmas Spectacular where characters were in Christmast costumes. When we met Snow White and her prince they were so amazing with my kids and talked just like they were them. My kids asked questions and they responded without batting an eye. Very fun

I want to know how the characters in costumes with heads, like Mickey or Goofy, stay upright. I would just die in that kind of heat.

Yeah, we did some of that, both at Disneyland and Disneyworld, and here's proof.

Good times. I love taking my kids to Disney. The first time they went, they were more concerned with autographs than doing anything else. We actually got out of line to go meet characters. The character dinners are great, too. We did several of them

Our little one is 5 and we have gone to Disney World about once a year since he was a baby. We have been able to get away with just taking pictures with the characters through our last trip. But, on this past trip he actually noticed the kids with their autographs books and asked what that was about. I had been thinking of starting that anyway becasue it's been seeming that the characters spend more time with the kids asking for autographs, whereas with my son they kind of just grab him, take the photo and shoo him away. So next trip(which happens to already be booked for July 2011) an autograpgh book is on the to buy list.

Hahaha. My best friend and I just got back from our first trip to Disney World. Funny thing is, we are both over 20 and were in line with autograph pens and books just like the 5 year olds and just as excited to get autographs. In fact, one of my favorite memories is Stitch signing my autograph book over and over until he got caught. He got a total of 4 in before he had to give it to Lilo!

We have been to Disneyworld several times (we have relatives living in Florida), and just returned from a trip there. My kids have NEVER been willing to stand in line for autographs, and were too afraid of the "big" Mickey Mouse and Winnie the Pooh to even want to meet them. And now that they have reached the ripe old age of 7 and 9, they say they are too old. So we have no autographs and very few pictures of the kids with the characters. We do have one funny one of my younger son screaming because it looks like Tigger is trying to eat him. . .!

We took our children two years ago when they were 7. They stayed in line for most of the Disney characters. We made special cards that had the character's name, picture, and a place for them to sign. My kids loved the special attention they got from these handmade signature cards. A lot of the characters made a big deal about them since they were so different from the autograph books. Once my kids saw how much attention they were getting, they continued to look for characters to have sign their cards. However, they are now 9 and we plan on going back in a couple of years. They have already stated that they will not stand in line for characters again. They feel that they are too old to do that, and would rather spend more time at the rides.
