Why do the survey page always starts with a lot of question about yourself ? I think that's so strange can somebody explane it to me why all these questions do they really need them for some reason?

They need to categorize the survey takers into different groups so they don't have too many people of one group over another. Different categories can include age, location, and race.

your'e telling me that it's a ussual routine coming from their site? it's the forst time i'm getting some surveys even so i'm afraid for scams

Well it has to be. Because just like the above poster said, it has to be categorized according to age, gender, etc. But if you are talking about online surveys, which you probably are, most of them are trying first if you qualify for that certain survey. Ex: If they are going to survey about baby diapers, then you need to have small children who uses it.

the socio-demographic characteristics.. that is how we identify who are our respondents.. so we can categorize and clearly see the relationship of the results with the respondents... this is how we do it when we do our thesis which is not different from those survey sites i believe.. and also those survey sites ask you these questions so they can identify which survey are for you..
