If alcohol kills more, why shouldn't it be illegal rather than weed?

I just can't understand why our society looks down on marijuana users. Alcohol kills more and more everyday and we do what about it? Nothing. We throw the drunks in jail who usually get out on bail and go drink again. The ones who kill someone when drunk go to jail and get out a couple years later. What happened? I thought maybe someone would stand up and admit that alcohol should be the illegal drug. I guess not. What do you guys think about it?
