My Grade or Your Life?

My teacher had shared us one of the dilemmas teachers had on some parts of the world. Some children of affluent families and those who were associated in the rebel groups rarely attend classes and at the end of the semester, when it is time to give grades, they suddenly appear with their armors. They are trying to threaten teachers in whatever way possible to give them passing grades. If you are teaching in those places, what would you do? Would you give them a passing grade even if they did not learn something in exchange for your peaceful life or will you not give in to the threats and uphold your principles? Please share your thoughts.

The right choice would be to not give them the grade. why tell someone they are smarter if they couldn't put forth the effort to learn. At the same time its hard to say no when your life is on the line. I would respect either answer.

Oh well, you can never have a clear cut view on all matters of life. It's not always black or white. Sometimes there are indeed shades of gray. Thank you very much for your comment. It is greatly appreciated. :D

This is really a difficult dilemma to solve, though this is one proof that teaching is a very noble profession. If I am the one in a situation like this, I am not really sure of what to do. Of course, one would always protect himself from the bad intentions of others especially if your own life is at stake, but as a teacher working in an environment like that, I suppose they have strong principles in life which make them agree to live in that place for the sake of teaching.

I really agree with you. I think the best choice would be not to be in that situation. LOL! Thank you very much for your comment. It is greatly appreciated. :D

..hi.. that is really very hard to decide most especially if you have a family more so, if you have small children.. maybe, in my case, it depends on the situation.. I value my life but I value my principle.. maybe i'll try to bargain with them and have them do some assignments related to their subjects.. I am a teacher and I have my duty to teach.. at least, they have to learn something even the small things..

I guess I'll do the same too especially if I have a family that depends on me. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. It is greatly appreciated. :D

I value my life and I firmly stand for my principles. If they want passing grades they must earn it. Ending my life will not give them passing grades. :D

Wow! I really really really like your comment. If you indeed succumb to the fear, this would make them more bold to use that same kind of violence again and again. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. It is greatly appreciated. :D

I will pass them, my life not worth to be done on someone's grade and that passing grade is so low, they cant do any actual thing with it later so they will still need to study to get better grades

Wow! What a fresh perspective. They really can't do much with a grade they hadn't work for and sooner or later, they would realize it. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. It is greatly appreciated. :D
