Ok, I was confirmed as legally deaf in my left ear last year...I suffer from tinitus too which is constant ringing in my ears...If someone says something to me, I sometimes don't hear them especially if they talk to me on my left side die to the tinitus & being legally deaf. Both the hearing test guy & my doctor have said that a hearing aid wouldn't help because it would make sounds louder that I don't really want to hear louder like back ground noise, etc & not voices, etc. What would you do? I am just living each day trying to get by & have been living like this since I was 10 so 22 years now & I have learned to cope by lip reading if I can't hear. Do you suffer from something like this?

I have had a hearing loss in my ear since my teens because of a bad ear infection. It is not as bad as what you have shown. I wonder if an ear specialist would be able to help in some way. I personally would like to try some herbal drops in my ears from an herbal formula made by John R. Christopher. Here is a web site that talks about that formula: http://www.healthfree.com/view_newsletter.php?id=99&key=a I have not personally used this formula but have used the Complete Bone and Tissue formula for a bad back and for my daughters twisted ribs from a roll-over accident that she was in. The Bone formula takes a while to work and should not be taken if pregnant or nursing but it has taken a lot of pain away for me and my daughter.

I wish that would help me but i have my doubts but only because of how long I have had my hearing loss...this was caused by getting water caught in my ears while swimming & I couldn't get it out & needed grommets in my ears.

I have no idea what grommets are. It would be best to check with your doctor or a specialist of the ears before you do anything. I am so sorry that you are suffering with this. It seems in this day and age there should be something to help somewhere, someway. I hope you will find an answer.

Grommets are those little tubes the speciallist puts in your ear drums to drain out fluid. Thanks...I ope to find something to help soon too.

That must be very hard for you to deal with! We used to have a book called Stop Your Tinnitus in our store, but I just had a look for it and we do not have it any more. There is not even a listing anymore. It was a fairly popular book when we had it, considering that it was not a recipe book or one of the other more popular fields of interest that we have. I found it on Amazon though. It might be worth you checking out. I never read it myself, but I believe that it is pretty good. http://www.amazon.com/Stop-Your-Tinnitus-Preventatives-Alternatives/dp/1880598221 There was also this one which has better reviews on Amazon, but I am guessing that there would be plenty of information on Tinnitus online too. http://www.amazon.com/Tinnitus-Handbook-Self-Help-Guide/dp/1887053069/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top

I'm sorry that you too have the same problem but it's also good to talk to someone who knows what I'm going through...I have also noticed that certain tones hurt my ear drums too...do you have that problem?
