Is LIFE so Short?

I recalled the pop song by the Moffats in the 90's entitled "If life was so short".. its almost instinctual that you maximize your life if you feel that life is short. Patients with terminal illnesses like cancer do rectify their life before they expire. Relatively as Einstein would say that "a lifetime is not enough to learn all the knowledge in this world" and Hemmingway quotes that "it takes a lifetime to know your wife".. Maybe, philosophically a lifetime is really a short time. Scientifically, humans can't outlive a round trip orbit from Earth to Neptune and back because it takes more than 80 earth years to do this. A tortoise can live more than 200 years and out live humans by 3 lifetimes. Legally speaking, we already make double life sentence or 4 counts of reclusion perpetua (life imprisonment).These are just a few proofs that life is indeed short. I have always live my life to the fullest.. I maximize each day in all my activities, and further enhance this by multi-tasking. I always feel that life is so short and that there are still a lot of things to accomplish... if this is the mindset of mankind.. Man will strive to achieve more in a shorter time. Do you really think that life is short? or otherwise? Please share your opinion.
